You’ll work alongside engineers, architects, and delivery specialists to develop technology that enables faster, safer decision-making for critical operations.\nYour work may include:\nDeploy, and maintain secure infrastructure within Kubernetes environments\nAdminister and maintain Splunk for log aggregation, monitoring, alerting, and threat detection\nOperate and manage Nessus for vulnerability scanning, reporting, and remediation tracking\nIntegrate security tools into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native workflows\nAutomate security processes using scripting or infrastructure-as-code approaches\nCollaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to embed security best practices\nMaintain artefacts as code and documentation for systems, processes, and configurations\nDocumenting configuration of security tooling.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe value people who take ownership, think critically, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team tackling complex challenges. You don’t need to tick every box, but we’re particularly interested in people with skills/experience in:\nProven experience as a Security Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role\nDeploying and managing EDR agents\nHands-on experience with Kubernetes\nExperience managing and administering SIEM tooling (e.g. Splunk)\nExperience deploying vulnerability scanning and analysis tooling (e.g. Nessus)\nKubernetes observability (e.g. fluentbit)\nFamiliarity with container security principles and tools\nScripting or automation skills (e.g. Python, Bash, or similar)\nUnderstanding of security frameworks and best practices\nKnowledge of configuring SIEM tooling.\nBasic understanding of threat frameworks, such as ATT&CK.\nExperience with additional SIEM or observability platforms\nExperience with Microsoft Defender\nExperience with DevSecOps practices and pipeline security\nCertifications such as CKA, CKAD, CISSP, CEH, or similar\nExposure to threat modelling and security architecture design\nJust as important are curiosity, strong problem solving ability, and the motivation to continuously improve how technology is designed and delivered.\nAbout SiXworks\nSiXworks is a specialist digital innovation partner delivering secure, mission-critical technology to Defence and National Security organisations.
