They provide delivery leadership across challenging stakeholder environments, balancing commercial performance, delivery excellence, risk management and customer satisfaction.\nYour work may include:\nStrategic Project Leadership\nLead complex programmes or projects with significant technical, commercial or organisational complexity.\nEstablish delivery strategies that enable successful customer outcomes.\nAlign project execution with programme, portfolio and business objectives.\nProvide leadership across ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments.\nAlign project delivery strategies with account growth objectives and wider business strategy.\nComplex Delivery Management\nLead large multidisciplinary teams delivering secure digital, software and technology solutions.\nManage complex dependencies across suppliers, customers and internal teams.\nBalance pace of delivery with governance, security and assurance requirements.\nDrive recovery plans where project performance is at risk.\nService Transition and Operational Excellence\nLead complex transition activities from project delivery into managed service operation.\nEnsure operational support arrangements, service acceptance criteria and service governance are established.\nWork closely with Technical Leads to achieve successful adoption and long-term service performance.\nDrive delivery readiness for Service Acceptance Gate approvals.\nSenior Stakeholder Engagement\nBuild trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders.\nManage executive-level communications and governance forums.\nInfluence decisions across project, programme and organisational boundaries.\nHandle sensitive delivery, commercial and operational challenges.\nPartner with Account Directors to strengthen strategic customer relationships.\nContribute to account planning and growth discussions.\nIdentify opportunities for follow-on work, service expansion or new capability development.\nCommercial and Financial Leadership\nOwn significant project budgets and forecasts.\nManage financial performance, margin and commercial risks.\nSupport bid activities, project mobilisation and transition planning.\nBalance customer outcomes and delivery commitments against margin, resource utilisation and organisational priorities.\nLeadership and Capability Development\nCoach and mentor Junior Project Managers and Project Managers.\nPromote project management best practice across IBM SiXworks.\nSupport development of delivery frameworks, governance approaches and lessons learned.\nContribute to the wider capability development of the delivery function.\nRisk and Assurance\nLead management of complex delivery risks.\nDirect project assurance activities.\nSupport audits, reviews and customer assurance processes.\nEnsure effective decision-making and escalation management.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe value people who take ownership, think critically, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team tackling complex challenges. You don’t need to tick every box, but we’re particularly interested in people with skills/experience in:\nExtensive project management experience delivering complex technology or digital projects.\nDemonstrated success managing large multidisciplinary teams.\nExperience operating within secure, regulated or mission-critical environments.\nStrong commercial, financial and contractual management capability.\nProven ability to influence senior stakeholders and customers.\nAPM PMQ, APM ChPP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent.\nExperience in defence, national security, government or critical infrastructure sectors.\nExperience delivering large-scale software engineering, cloud, data or AI-enabled solutions.\nExperience supporting business development or bid activity.\nExperience of working with MoD customers (preferably with RAF and in Command and Control (C2) or Air Battle space Management (ABM) environments)\nExperience of working with Customer Capability Requirements.\nJust as important are curiosity, strong problem solving ability, and the motivation to continuously improve how technology is designed and delivered.\nAbout SiXworks\nSiXworks is a specialist digital innovation partner delivering secure, mission-critical technology to Defence and National Security organisations.
