The Data Analyst operates within this collaborative structure, within the Engineering Support Branch and engaging with various JDO teams to deliver reliable data solutions.\nFramework & Boundaries\nOperates within HPC Information Management System (IMS) and JDO data governance standards; supports compliance with relevant quality frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, GSR-3).\nSupports analytics and reporting under the guidance of the Data Management Lead; influences data-driven decisions without direct line management.\nWorks within agreed reporting cadences and confidentiality requirements.\nPrincipal Accountabilities\nDevelop, maintain, and optimise governed data pipelines within the Databricks platform to support engineering reporting, analytics, and decision-making.\nExtract, transform, and integrate data from multiple source systems using SQL and Python, ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose.\nDesign and maintain curated datasets and reporting layers that provide a trusted, single source of truth for engineering and business stakeholders.\nApply data governance principles to ensure data quality, consistency, traceability, lineage, and compliance with JDO and organisational information management standards.\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and self-service reporting solutions (e.g. Power BI) to monitor delivery performance and provide actionable insights.\nCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand data requirements\nSupport the preparation of reports and presentations for Senior Leadership Teams, providing clear analysis, visualisations, and key insights.\nDocument data pipelines, datasets, business rules, data models, and reporting methodologies to ensure transparency, knowledge sharing, and auditability.\nMonitor, maintain, and continuously improve data processes and reporting solutions to increase automation, efficiency, and reliability.\nIdentify opportunities to standardise and modernise data management practices through the adoption of scalable tools, technologies, and best practices.\nDimensions\nReports to the Engineering Support Data Management Lead.\nInterfaces with JDO teams, RD, HPC Quality teams, and IT/Data Governance teams.\nKnowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience\nEssential\nProficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.\nProficiency in SQL and/or Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.\nExperience working with data visualisation and reporting tools (Power BI preferred).\nUnderstanding of data integration, reconciliation, and data quality management techniques.\nStrong analytical skills, numeracy, and the ability to communicate findings clearly, both verbally and in writing.\nUnderstanding of data governance principles and the importance of data quality, consistency, and traceability.\nAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.\nDesirable\nExperience using the Databricks platform to access, transform, and analyse large datasets.\nAdvanced knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.\nExperience with automation tools & techniques, including VBA, Python, or Power Automate.\nGeneral engineering knowledge or experience in engineering, construction, or project delivery environments.\nFamiliarity with information management and data governance frameworks within regulated environments\nFor this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
