Together, we deliver innovative and sustainable solutions across the entire project lifecycle.\nRole Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Vancouver studio and lead the successful delivery of hospitality, food & beverage, and residential interior design projects from concept through to completion.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, consultant coordination, technical documentation, contract administration, and client relationships while ensuring the highest standards of design quality and delivery excellence.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and technically strong design professional who enjoys leading projects, mentoring team members, and contributing to the continued growth of an internationally recognised design practice.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign & Project Delivery\nEstablish project standards and coordinate project documentation throughout all phases.\nAssist with feasibility studies and project planning activities as required.\nManage project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining design intent and client expectations.\nPrepare and coordinate interior design drawing packages and specifications.\nCoordinate with clients, contractors, structural, MEP, and specialist consultants.\nReview construction documentation and undertake quality assurance reviews.\nParticipate in value engineering exercises where required.\nAttend consultant, contractor, and coordination meetings and maintain accurate project records.\nReview and respond to RFIs, change orders, shop drawings, and site instructions.\nOversee purchasing, installation, and site administration activities when required.\nConduct site visits, monitor construction progress, and document deficiencies.\nMaintain and evolve CAD standards and project templates.\nEnsure all project information is appropriately issued, archived, and managed.\nMaintain a clear understanding of applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry standards.\nLeadership\nMentor and support designers and technologists within project teams.\nPromote collaboration and actively share technical and design knowledge.\nIdentify opportunities to enhance the firm's design capabilities.\nContribute to the development of improved systems, processes, and client service delivery.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.\nProject & Team Management\nPrepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding process\nTrack Financial Performance of projects\nManage project scope, schedules, resources, and budgets; set-up with subconsultants, vendors and sub-contractors.\nEnsure projects conform to contract; identify any scope gaps and prepare any Additional Services Notices to address same.\nMonitor project quality, risk, and compliance requirements.\nAct as the primary contact for clients and consultants throughout project delivery.\nAllocate work and coordinate deliverables across project teams.\nLead project close-out activities and ensure successful project completion.\nSkills & Qualifications\nDiploma or Degree in Interior Design or a related discipline.\n10+ years' experience leading, managing and mentoring multiple project teams through the entire life-cycle of a project.\nStrong understanding of British Columbia building regulations and applicable local codes.\nExperience negotiating project scope and fees.\nExperience with MS Office and InDesign is required; additional experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite and Revit would be advantageous.\nPrevious hospitality, food & beverage, and/or multi-family residential project experience is highly desirable.\nMust have the ability to maintain existing client relationships as well as build new client relationships.\nStrong leadership, communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.\nExcellent attention to detail and commitment to design and technical excellence.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment.\nWhat We Offer\nOpportunity to work on high-profile hospitality and residential projects across North America and internationally.\nCollaborative, creative, and supportive studio culture.\nProfessional development and career progression opportunities.\nExposure to global design expertise through the wider CHIL and SJ Group network.\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package.\nThe anticipated base salary range for this position is CAD $100,000 - $130,000 per annum. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's education, experience, skills, qualifications, location, and market conditions.
