The Person will be asked to work at least one four or eight hour shift (mornings, afternoons or evenings, on weekdays, Saturdays, or Sunday afternoons)\nRequired to work at least one shift per bi-weekly pay period based on the needs of the Library.\nAbout the Job\nSubstitute Library Assistants provide excellent service and connect community members with library services and materials. Under the direction of the Human Resources Assistant and with an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Substitute Library Assistant will:\nProvide hands-on customer service at the Help Desk. \nAssist patrons with use of the Library's public computers, and Library supported software.\nAssist patrons with directional, basic collection, and Library account questions.\nActively participate in training.\nAssist with various projects under the guidance of the Agency/Department Manager.\nPerform other similar duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nCash register experience preferred.\nAt least 2 years of work experience in a public library and/or retail preferred.\nRequirements\nWillingness to adapt to changes in the work environment.\nA strong commitment to excellent and genuine customer service.\nExcellent oral and interpersonal communication skills.\nStrong competence and experience using and troubleshooting computers, software, office equipment, and mobile devices.
