This role oversees internal communications, leadership communications, town halls, employee engagement initiatives, employee listening programs, and action planning efforts.The position serves as the day-to-day leader for internal communications and employee engagement activities and is responsible for managing a high-performing team while working across the organization to ensure effective communication and engagement outcomes.\nEssential Functions:\nInternal Communications\nLead the execution of internal communications plans that support company objectives and strategic priorities.\nProvide strategic oversight of employee communication channels, editorial calendars, and content planning.\nDevelop and execute communications for organizational announcements, business updates, and enterprise initiatives.\nEnsure messaging is clear, timely, and aligned across the organization.\nLeadership Communications\nDraft executive communications, leadership messages, talking points, presentations, and supporting materials.\nDevelop content and messaging for town halls, leadership meetings, employee forums, and organizational announcements.\nCoordinate communication materials and supporting content for senior leadership.\nSupport the planning and execution of leadership communications initiatives and events.\nLeadership Meetings & Town Halls\nLead the planning and execution of company town halls and employee forums.\n Coordinate agendas, presentations, logistics, messaging, and follow-up communications for town halls and leadership meetings.\nSupport leadership meeting planning to promote alignment, engagement, accountability, and effective follow-through\nEmployee Engagement & Action Planning\nLead employee engagement initiatives that strengthen culture, connection, and organizational effectiveness.\n Manage employee survey communications and related engagement programs.\nWork with leaders to communicate and track action plans based on employee feedback.\nMonitor progress and provide reporting on engagement initiatives and action plan outcomes.\n Support recognition, giving, wellness, and other employee-focused programs as needed.\nChange Communications\n Develop and execute communications plans supporting organizational change and enterprise initiatives.\n Support leaders and project teams in communicating changes effectively to employees.\nTeam Leadership\nLead and develop a team of communications and engagement professionals.\nProvide coaching, direction, performance management, and professional development support.\nEstablish team priorities and oversee workloads to ensure successful execution of initiatives.\nFoster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.\nRequired Skills:\nExperience supporting executive and leadership communications.\nExperience planning and executing town halls, employee events, leadership meetings, and engagement programs.\nExperience managing employee survey communications and action planning initiatives.\nExcellent writing, editing, project management, and stakeholder management skills.\nProven ability to lead teams through organizational change, growth, and evolving business priorities.\nQualifications\nRequired Background:\nBachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Human Resources, Business, or a related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or;\n Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.\n 8-10 years of progressive internal communications, employee engagement, or organizational communications experience.\nMinimum of 2-4 years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, talent development, and responsibility for leading high-performing teams.\nEquivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.\nExplore the Possibilities\nSouth Jersey Industries employs a diverse range of talent - from construction contractors to environmental specialists.
