This position will be based in our White Plains NY office (hybrid). Responsible for the implementation, configuration, enhancement and maintenance of payroll technology globally to ensure accurate, compliant and timely payroll processing. Troubleshoots payroll system issues, performs data audits, implements system upgrades, creates reports, and ensures system compliance with local statutory requirements across multiple countries. Acts as the liaison between Payroll, Benefits, Human Resources and system vendors to maximize system efficiency. Creates and updates payroll procedures and provides analysis of payroll operations globally.\nResponsible for multi-country payroll implementations and enhancements across payroll systems, ensuring compliance with local payroll statutory requirements. \nDesigns, tests, deploys, and troubleshoots new payroll system features, standards, procedures, calculated fields, and reports, with particular focus on international offices.\nResponsible for troubleshooting payroll system issues for multi-country operations. \nCollaborates across teams to ensure seamless and efficient payroll processing.\nMaintains data quality and timely updates of global payroll configurations.\nProvides system expertise, addresses risks and issues through effective contingency plans, proper escalation; prepares project schedules, and ensures requirements are addressed during enhancements/process re-engineering. \nPerforms Workday system analysis and consults with the technology team members and other stakeholders to offer solutions using best practices.\nInstrumental in the design, implementation and support of new payroll system functionality, particularly around both internal and external integrations for international offices.\nProvides functional support to the technical team in systems development and resolves production issues and defects reported to ensure timeliness of wage payments.\nProvides expertise for developing designing options and engaging with functional areas such as HCM, Compensation, Payroll, and future product direction.\nAudits payroll processes and data to ensure accuracy and compliance with local statutory requirements, on an as-needed basis. \nRecommends system enhancements to streamline processes and create efficiencies. \nDemonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.\nManages Firm resources responsibly.\nRegular and reliable physical presence to work as part of a team. \nComplies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nKnowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems\nKnowledge of international payroll and tax laws and requirements. \nDemonstrates strong project management skills for cross-functional initiatives. \nDemonstrates excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational, planning, and technical troubleshooting skills.\nDemonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing\nDemonstrates close attention to detail\nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills\nAbility to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities\nAbility to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality\nAbility to organize and prioritize work\nAbility to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment\nAbility to work well independently as well as effectively within a team\nAbility to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment\nFlexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree\nMinimum of five years of related experience supporting payroll systems internationally\nMinimum of three years of Workday HCM experience required, including experience with APIs and integrations with Workday HCM and/or similar HCM system\nCulture & Life at Skadden\nWhat makes Skadden special is our people and the culture, community and spirit of collaboration we have created.
