We are shaping the future of work itself.\nRole Summary\nWe are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to manage and optimise highly loaded PostgreSQL databases handling large volumes of data. The role involves ensuring database performance, availability, scalability, and reliability across self-managed and cloud environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nAdminister, maintain, and upgrade PostgreSQL databases across environments\nManage high-volume and high-traffic databases with large datasets\nMonitor and optimise performance, queries, indexing, vacuum, and auto vacuum\nDefine and manage connection thresholds and pooling.\nImplement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies\nDesign and support replication, read replicas, and high-availability setups\nUnderstand and apply sharding and partitioning strategies when required\nManage schema migrations using Alembic\nUnderstand and evaluate Liquibase vs Alembic usage\nSupport PostgreSQL in self-managed (on-prem) and cloud environments\nGood troubleshooting skills.\nHelps in design schema and make sure things are in order.\nRequired Skills\n5-10 years of hands-on PostgreSQL administration experience\n Hands-on experience with modern data warehousing tools (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or similar platforms).\nExperience with large-scale, heavily loaded PostgreSQL databases\nStrong knowledge of backup & recovery, replication & HA, performance tuning, and connection management\nHands-on experience with Alembic\nWorking knowledge of Liquibase\nExperience with Linux-based systems\nNice to Have\nExperience with cloud-managed PostgreSQL (Azure / GCP)\nFamiliarity with monitoring and alerting tools\nBasic scripting skills (Python / Shell)\nSoft Skills\nStrong troubleshooting and ownership mindset\nAbility to handle production issues\nClear communication with engineering teams\nThis is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, with an
