As one of the world’s largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.\nYou will be working in the Technology and Sustainability Team we harness digital transformation and innovation to meet ambitious climate goals and deliver sustainable solutions for our customers.\nWe are currently looking for an IT Automation Engineer, based at Leavesden Park, Watford, who will be accountable for delivering improvement through process automation and technical advancement using modern methodologies and technologies to help projects deliver value and control cost.\nAs the IT Automation Engineer, you will:\nDrive business improvement through process automation and technical innovation, helping projects maximise value and control costs.\nDesign, build, test, document and migrate automation solutions, including legacy processes, across Microsoft Azure and other cloud or on-premises platforms.\nSupport high service availability through proactive incident, problem and change management, including out-of-hours or on-call support where required.\nWork closely with product owners, stakeholders and engineering teams to turn user requirements into actionable stories and deliver integrated, end-to-end automation solutions.\nHelp shape and define Automation as a Service, creating scalable and reusable automation capabilities.\nPromote knowledge sharing, peer review and continuous improvement, while embedding security and compliance into every automation implementation.\nWe are looking for:\nDegree-qualified, hold an equivalent professional qualification, or bring substantial experience in a similar IT automation or engineering role.\nStrong hands-on technical expertise in PowerShell, C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, SQL and REST APIs.\nProven experience delivering end-to-end process automation across both cloud and on-premises environments.\nSolid configuration management and development experience using orchestration tools such as System Centre Orchestrator, alongside strong practical knowledge of Azure automation services, including Runbooks, Logic Apps and Function Apps.\nGood understanding of DevOps practices, system design across a range of risk, impact and complexity levels, and familiarity with ITIL or similar best-practice frameworks.\nStrong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with a track record of driving process improvement, operational efficiency, change management and organisational adoption.\nWhat we offer:\n24/7 digital GP service for you and your family\nFinancial wellbeing and employee assistance\nProfessional development\nEnhanced family benefits (including maternity, paternity, dependants and parental bereavement leave)\nInclusion and Diversity\nWe thrive through embracing differences as we know that diversity opens a rich potential for new ways of thinking, helping us to build successful and high-performing teams.
