Through collaboration and innovation, we deliver high-quality solutions that make a lasting, positive impact for people and communities.\nWe are currently looking for a Lead Engineer, at the Bristol Schools project, who will provide day-to-day engineering support across Bristol Metropolitan Academy, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient and reliable facilities management engineering services. This includes responding promptly to reactive maintenance issues, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and supporting the effective operation and management of building systems.\nWorking closely with the Engineering Supervisor, the Lead Engineer will provide technical expertise, leadership and guidance to the engineering team, helping to maintain high standards of service delivery across the estate. The role will also deputise for the Engineering Supervisor when required, ensuring continuity of engineering services and smooth day-to-day operations across the four academies in Bristol.\nAs the Lead Engineer, you will:\nDeliver reactive and planned maintenance activities in line with contractual Service Level Agreements, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.\nCarry out inspections and checks of electrical and mechanical services, plant and systems to support the safe and reliable operation of the estate.\nDevelop a detailed understanding of building systems and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability and efficiency.\nMonitor agreed KPIs and SLAs, ensuring effective prioritisation and use of time to consistently meet performance targets.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date CAFM records and site documentation at all times, ensuring all works are reported to the Helpdesk in accordance with required processes.\nIn the absence of the Engineering Supervisor, coordinate and take responsibility for all planned and reactive maintenance delivered by the engineering team across equipment, plant, services and systems.\nWe are looking for:\nExperience in a similar role is necessary.\nHNC or HND qualification, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline is essential.\nCompletion of a recognised time-served apprenticeship is essential.\nIOSH Health and Safety qualification is essential.\nKnowledge of, or previous experience using, mobile technology to manage tasks is essential.\nProven ability to manage and prioritise a varied and demanding workload is essential.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees, customers and clients at all levels, are essential.\nSound knowledge of health and safety legislation is essential, together with a working knowledge of COSHH, confined space requirements and L8.\nWhat we offer:\n24/7 digital GP service for you and your family \nFinancial wellbeing and employee assistance \nProfessional development \nEnhanced family benefits (including maternity, paternity, dependants and parental bereavement leave) \nInclusion and Diversity\nWe thrive through embracing differences as we know that diversity opens a rich potential for new ways of thinking, helping us to build successful and high-performing teams.
