The responsibility includes, but is not limited to, a dedication to the company’s mission statement, to company profitability and 100% customer satisfaction\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nEnforce all company policies as defined in the SMEG Company Handbook\nInteract with entire service staff\nMaintain clean/safe work areas, cleanliness of tool and ensure proper tool storage, for both personal and company owned\nMaintain neat and professional personal appearance at all times\nUnder direct supervision of the Shop Foreman, the General Service Technician will assist shop and or field service technicians with assigned vehicle maintenance repairs\nPerform proper and accurate vehicle diagnosis, services and repairs as directed by management.\nPerform quality repairs and services in a timely manner\nProvide Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager(s) with accurate estimated labor times\nProvide Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager(s) with complete parts needed list\nParticipate in quality check process with Shop Foreman and Assistant Manager(s)\nUnderstanding of productivity goals and review for areas in need of improvement\nFollow company processes and procedures as defined in the SMEG operations manual\nParticipate in morning meetings with service staff to plan the day\nMaintain accurate, timely and legible company designed reports and paperwork\nNotice and report potential problem areas to management before they arise\nMaintain a successful working relationship with Pierce Manufacturing personnel\nEnforce policies and procedures as defined in the Pierce Manufacturing operations manual\nResponsible for responsive/timely travel to designated sites and locations as directed/scheduled\n\nQualifications\nThe General Service Technician must be able to clearly demonstrate their ability to set and reach performance goals set forth by the owner/operator.\nMust be willing to travel to other site locations and stations as needed.\nExperience within Fire and Emergency related industry a plus.\nMust work towards obtaining both EVT Master Tech and Pierce Master Technician status \nProven track record of success\nExcellent communication skills both verbal and written\nExceptional organizational methods (Work area, Safety, Tool & Equipment Organization) \nPossess exceptional leadership and motivational skills\nDedication to customer service and business success\nAbility to engage in and maintain positive relationships with employees and customers \nComputer skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook Email, Microsoft Word & Excel programs as well with any company provided software\n\nEducation and/or Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n2 Plus years with experience in an automotive service-related industry and/or technical school certificate.\nClean driving record with a Class B non-exempt CDL driver license or able to obtain within six months of hire.\nKnowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Heavy Truck Repair Industry\n\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nEVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) and ASE Heavy Truck Certifications are a plus\n\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
