The role

We're hiring a Head of IT to run Group IT across our sites in Estonia, Germany and Finland. You'll report to the CEO. The scope covers everything from strategy and the systems the business runs on, through to security, governance, vendors and the budget.

The team covers IT support and infrastructure, ERP development, and IT project management. It's a small team with a wide scope - you'll lead it and stay close to the work at the same time. Base yourself in Tallinn or Leipzig, and expect to travel to the other sites.

What you'll own

Leading the team. Build it, hire into it, develop the people already in it. If the shape of the team is wrong for what the business needs, say so and change it.

Strategy and governance. Set the direction for Group IT and explain it in language the rest of the company uses. You decide how technology gets bought, built and run here - the standards, the policies, the service processes - and keep them light enough that people actually follow them.

Infrastructure. Servers, networks, identity, endpoints, backup and recovery, and the collaboration platform, spread across several countries. It has to stay up and it has to stay secure.

Security and compliance. Information security for the group is yours. You've taken a company through ISO 27001 or lived under it, and your GDPR knowledge comes from doing it, not reading about it. Customers in defence, aerospace and automotive audit their suppliers, and those assessments will land on your desk. We want security built into how IT works, not bolted on afterwards.

AI. Fluency, not curiosity. You've put AI tools in front of a whole company and got people to use them, and built the governance that goes with that. You can tell useful AI from impressive AI, and you say which is which. Build-or-buy is a call you've made before - and anything built in-house still has to be run afterwards, so you price that in from the start.

Business systems and data. ERP, PLM, identity and collaboration, document management, reporting. The work is in keeping them talking to each other: master data that says the same thing in ERP, in engineering and on the shop floor, and integrations that still work after a vendor ships an upgrade. The master data framework and the governance around it sit with you.

Manufacturing and OT. Manufacturing digitalization and the MES applications belong to our Production organisation - you're their counterpart, not their manager. What you own sits underneath: OT networks, industrial endpoints, segmentation, and keeping all of it secure.

Vendors and budget. You hold the IT budget and the vendor portfolio. This needs commercial sense as much as technical sense - you can read a contract and see what it's really worth, know when consolidating saves money and when it quietly costs more, and can say no to people inside the company as easily as to a salesperson.

Requirements

What you bring

• Track record of building, hiring into, and developing an IT team - and reshaping it when its structure no longer fits the business.
• Experience setting IT strategy and policy at a group or company level, and translating it into terms non-technical stakeholders understand.
• Hands-on experience with servers, networks, identity, endpoints, backup/recovery and collaboration platforms across multiple countries or sites.
• You've taken a company through ISO 27001 (or operated under it), with GDPR experience gained on the job. Experience supporting customer security audits - ideally in defence, aerospace or automotive - is a strong plus.
• Direct experience rolling out AI tools company-wide, driving adoption, and building the governance around their use. Comfortable making build-vs-buy calls and owning the long-term cost of what's built in-house.
• Experience owning ERP, PLM, identity, document management and reporting systems, including master data governance and integrations across manufacturing and business functions.
• Understanding of OT networks, industrial endpoints and segmentation, and how to keep them secure - while working alongside (not managing) a separate manufacturing/MES organisation.
• Experience owning an IT budget and vendor portfolio, reading and negotiating contracts, and making consolidation calls based on real cost, not vendor pitch.
• Fluent English; willingness to be based in Tallinn or Leipzig and travel regularly to the other Group sites (Estonia, Germany, Finland).
