Role Overview:
As a Backend Developer at Skeps, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the core services that power our financing platform. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to build robust, high-throughput APIs and microservices that handle critical financial transactions. Your work will directly influence the reliability and speed of our credit decisioning engine, ensuring a frictionless experience for both our merchant partners and end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop scalable backend services using Node.js to support high-volume transaction processing.
- Design efficient database schemas and optimize query performance to ensure low-latency responses for mission-critical financial applications.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate complex business requirements into clean, maintainable, and modular code.
- Implement robust security protocols and compliance measures to protect sensitive financial data across all platform touchpoints.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in building and scaling complex backend systems using Node.js in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Proven ability to manage and optimize NoSQL and SQL databases to support high-concurrency applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders and cross-functional team members.
- A minimum of 6 to 9 years of professional experience in backend development, preferably within the fintech or high-growth startup ecosystem.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, office-based environment in Gurgaon, contributing to a fast-paced and innovative engineering culture.
