This role is to ensure the respect and application of the Health, Environmental, and Safety rules according to local regulatory codes, ISO 45001 / 14001, and SKF Group Standards. This role will work towards compliance and sustainability objectives set by SKF Group and MSU Business Unit.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSustainability, Energy & Climate\nLead site sustainability strategy, roadmaps, targets and initiatives aligned with SKF Group commitments.\nCoordinate sustainability reporting, including GHG emissions, customer requests, supporting evidence and applicable CSRD inputs.\nPartner across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Product Management on lifecycle impacts, circularity, responsible sourcing, waste reduction and product carbon-footprint inputs.\nLead site energy efficiency, decarbonization and climate-adaptation planning; monitor energy, emissions and climate indicators.\nAssess technical solutions, develop business cases and coordinate approved projects, incentives, implementation and benefits verification.\nEHS Management, Compliance & Risk\nMaintain the EHS management system in accordance with legislation, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, SKF Group requirements and site policies.\nMonitor regulatory and internal requirements; maintain procedures, records and supporting documentation.\nCoordinate hazard assessments, JSAs and equipment, process, chemical and change-management risk reviews; track actions to closure.\nMaintain emergency-response arrangements and lead timely reporting, investigation, root-cause analysis and corrective action for incidents and near misses.\nDevelop annual EHS plans, budgets and management reviews; support audits, inspections and closure of findings.\nLead waste-management improvements, including segregation, recycling, hazardous-waste controls and progress toward zero waste to landfill.\nTraining, Culture & Daily Support\nDevelop and administer the EHS training matrix, onboarding, role-specific and refresher training.\nCoach managers, supervisors and employees on EHS responsibilities, safe work practices and escalation of hazards or non-conformances.\nPromote employee engagement through daily management, safety walks, observations, proactive reporting and visible follow-up.\nSupport the Joint Health and Safety Committee, inspections, recommendations, action tracking and required records.\nMaintain accurate, timely EHS metrics and reports; model SKF standards, safe practices and continuous improvement.\nRequirements:\nSkills\nLeadership and culture-building across all organizational levels.\nHazard identification, risk mitigation, incident investigation and root-cause analysis.\nClear stakeholder communication, coaching and difficult safety conversations.\nEducation\nPost-secondary degree or diploma in occupational health and safety, environmental science, sustainability, engineering or a related discipline.\nCanadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.\nFirst Aid/CPR certification and valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence preferred.\nExperience\n3+ years of health and safety experience.\nLifecycle and carbon-footprint assessment; ISO 50001 knowledge an asset.\nDeveloping, implementing and maintaining EHS programs and management systems.\nKnowledge\nGHG accounting, GHG Protocol, energy management, decarbonization, climate-risk assessment, waste management and sustainability reporting.\nAlberta OHS legislation; ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements and audit support an asset.\nWHMIS, hazard assessment, emergency response, incident investigation and Joint Health and Safety Committee requirements.\nWhat You’ll Love About SKF:\nRest and Relaxation.
