We are looking for passionate individuals who are eager to explore uncharted waters and contribute to our innovative projects.\nPosition Overview\nJoin Skild AI’s manufacturing team to build autonomous mobile robots and accessories. In this hands-on role, you will assemble mechanical and electrical components, install PCBAs, route cables, and complete production checks using technical drawings and work instructions. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help the team deliver reliable products and meet production schedules.\nResponsibilities\nAssemble robots, accessories, and subassemblies according to technical drawings, bills of materials, written work instructions, visual aids, and standard operating procedures.\nInstall and secure mechanical hardware, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), cables, and wiring. Check component placement, connector seating, cable routing, and overall workmanship.\nPrepare each build by reviewing instructions and parts lists, gathering components and tools, and setting up an organized workstation.\nUse hand tools, calibrated torque tools, measuring instruments, and production or test equipment correctly; maintain tools and report damaged or out-of-calibration equipment.\nPerform in-process inspections and complete assembly checklists. Identify defects, document discrepancies, and raise quality concerns before moving work to the next step.\nPerform prescribed functional tests and basic troubleshooting to identify assembly issues; work with manufacturing engineering and your supervisor to resolve failures.\nRecord build, inspection, and test results in production systems and spreadsheets. Apply required labels and maintain accurate production records.\nSupport the production build plan, complete assigned work on schedule, and communicate material shortages, process issues, or other barriers promptly.\nPackage completed robots and accessories for shipment. Identify unused materials and coordinate return-to-stock items with your supervisor.\nMaintain a safe, clean, organized work area using 5S practices. Follow company safety procedures, handle materials responsibly, and perform other assigned manufacturing duties.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAt least 5 years of relevant experience in electro-mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a closely related field.\nHands-on experience assembling mechanical and electrical components, installing PCBAs, and routing cables or wiring in a production environment.\nAbility to read and follow assembly drawings, parts lists, written instructions, visual aids, and standard operating procedures.\nProficiency with common hand tools, torque tools, and measuring equipment, with consistent attention to assembly quality and workmanship.\nBasic troubleshooting skills and the ability to recognize, document, and communicate assembly or test problems.\nClear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technicians, supervisors, and manufacturing engineers.\nAbility to stay organized, follow established processes, and complete both repetitive assembly tasks and more complex builds accurately.\nComfort using email, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and production tracking systems to follow instructions and record work.\nAdditional Experience We Value \nExperience building robots, automated equipment, or similar complex electro-mechanical products.\nFamiliarity with ERP and product lifecycle management systems, such as Rootstock and Propel.\nExperience with 5S, in-process inspection, and manufacturing process improvements.\nPhysical Requirements \nThe role involves regular sitting, standing, and walking in a manufacturing environment, as well as hands-on assembly work and occasional lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
