In this role, you will support the accurate recognition and reporting of revenue in accordance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606, while also supporting accounting activities related to third-party royalty and reseller partners. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial data, interpreting contracts, proactively identify and implement process improvements, and partnering cross-functionally to drive efficiencies and strengthen controls. You will gain exposure to SaaS revenue recognition, deferred revenue, royalty accounting, month-end close, and revenue systems in a dynamic technology environment.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nSupport revenue recognition activities in accordance with ASC 606 and Skillsoft's accounting policies.\nReview customer contracts, sales orders, amendments, and other agreements to identify key revenue accounting considerations.\nPrepare and maintain revenue schedules for SaaS subscriptions, professional services, and other revenue streams.\nSupport monthly revenue roll-forwards and investigate variances between subledger, billing, and general ledger activity.\nManage and process royalty and reseller partner reports and payments in accordance with contractual terms.\nCalculate royalty revenue, minimum fees, and other partner-related accounting amounts, as applicable.\nMonitor royalty and reseller reporting requirements and follow up with internal and external partners for missing or incomplete information.\nMaintain accurate documentation supporting revenue recognition and royalty accounting conclusions.\nPartner with Sales Operations, Order Management, Legal, Accounts Receivable, Partner Management, and other teams to resolve contract and accounting discrepancies.\nAssist with external and internal audit requests, including providing supporting schedules and documentation.\nSupport SOX controls related to revenue and royalty accounting and ensure assigned controls are completed accurately and timely.\nMaintain accurate data and reporting within revenue, billing, and ERP systems.\nIdentify opportunities to improve revenue and royalty accounting processes, reporting, and controls.\nSupport special projects and system initiatives related to revenue recognition, royalty accounting, and process automation.\n\nSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:\n2-4 years of accounting experience, which can include relevant internship or co-op experience with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nKnowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.\nStrong Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and common financial formulas.\nAbility to review and interpret contracts, pricing terms, and financial data.\nRobust analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet month-end deadlines.\nPolished written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate accounting requirements to non-accounting stakeholders.\nComfortable working with large data sets and identifying trends, variances, and discrepancies.\nAbility to learn new accounting systems, processes, and technology quickly.\nDemonstrated commitment to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nExperience with:\nASC 606 or revenue recognition.\nWorking in a SaaS, software, subscription, or technology company.\nRoyalty accounting, reseller accounting, licensing agreements, or partner reporting.\nNetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or another ERP system.\nRevenue recognition or billing systems.\nFamiliarity with deferred revenue and revenue reconciliation processes.\nExperience supporting SOX controls or external audits.\nTarget base salary range for this job requisition is anticipated to be approximately $75,000 - $80,000 annualized.\nWe also offer Enterprise benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, and paid time off.\nThe company may modify salaries, salary ranges and/or Pay Plans from time to time as it deems necessary.\nSkillsoft uses AI-enabled tools to screen applications.
