We embrace cloud-native technologies, open-source innovation, and engineering excellence to deliver high-impact products for our customers and internal stakeholders.\nTogether, we are bold, collaborative, and passionate about building technology that makes a real difference.\nWhat you’lldo\n Design, develop, andmaintainscalable software platforms, APIs, and analytical applications.\n\n Build cloud-native services that support analytical, optimisation, forecasting, and AI workloads.\n\n Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and network domain experts to translate business requirements into robust software solutions.\n\n Develop backend services and APIs using Python and modern frameworks such asFastAPI, Flask, or Django.\n\n Design and implementcontainerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.\n\n Build andmaintainCI/CD pipelines to enable reliable testing, deployment, and monitoring.\n\n Develop reusable platform components that improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.\n\n Contribute to data product development, including ingestion, transformation, model deployment, and visualisation workflows.\n\n Ensure software solutions meet security, reliability, scalability, and performance requirements.\n\n Support operational excellence through observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incidentresolution.\n\n Contribute to technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices.\n\n Mentor junior developers and contribute to fostering a strong engineering culture.\n\nWhat you’llbring\nEssential criteria:\n Strong commercial experience developing software applications usingPython.\n\n Experience with modern Python frameworks such asFastAPI, Flask, or Django.\n\n Strong understanding of software engineering principles including testing, design patterns, maintainability, and code quality.\n\n Experience building and deploying applications on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), although AWS or Azure experience is also valued.\n\n Hands-on experience withDocker,Kubernetes, and container orchestration.\n\n Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.\n\n Strong understanding of CI/CD practices using tools such as GitHub Actions, Concourse, Jenkins, or equivalent.\n\n Experience working with Git-based developmentworkflows.\n\n Understanding of data engineering and analytical workflows, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and reporting.\n\n Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively within agile, cross-functional teams.\n\nDesirable skills and experience:\n Experience building platforms or applications that support Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI workloads.\n\n Experience withMLOpstooling such asMLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, or similar technologies.\n\n Knowledge of workflow orchestration platforms such as Apache Airflow.\n\n Experience with data processing technologies such as Pandas, Apache Beam, Spark, or similar frameworks.\n\n Strong SQL skills and experience with analytical databases such asBigQuery, PostgreSQL, orClickHouse.\n\n Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, orOpenTelemetry.\n\n Experience deploying and supporting large-scale distributed systems in Kubernetes environments.\n\n Knowledge of graph analytics, network modelling, optimisation algorithms, or telecommunications networks.\n\nBenefits and perks\nThere'sone thing people can'tstop talking about when it comes to life at Sky: the perks.
