Controller reports to the VP, Controller and is a key leader within the accounting organization, responsible for supporting daily, monthly, and annual financial reporting while strengthening the processes, controls, and discipline required of a growing company.\nIn this role, you will partner closely with leadership to manage the financial close, oversee complex reconciliations, support audit and regulatory requirements, and continuously improve accounting operations.\nBeyond technical excellence, you are expected to bring thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to a fast-paced, evolving environment as well as help build an accounting organization capable of supporting continued company growth and future strategic transactions.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nFinancial Close\nLead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes\nReview journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses prepared by the accounting team to ensure accuracy and completeness\nMonitor close metrics and identify opportunities to reduce the overall close timeline \nDrive consistency and accountability through standardized close checklists and workflows within FloQast \nTeam Leadership & Development\nDirectly supervise A/P Manager and Senior and Staff accountants\nCoach, mentor and develop three direct reports through ongoing coaching, training, and performance guidance\nEstablish clear performance expectations and create development opportunities that strengthen the team’s technical and leadership capabilities\nFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer service\nAccounting Operations\nOversee general ledger accounting and balance sheet integrity\nEnsure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items\nProvide oversight of:Accounts Payable\nFranchise billing, collections, and accounting\nOther Accounts Receivable\nInventory/COGS accounting\nPayroll & benefits accounting\nCredit card reconciliations\nPre-opening expenses\nAccruals and reserves\n\nProvide actionable reporting for senior management, including AR aging and DSO metrics\nReview unusual transactions and ensure appropriate GAAP treatment\nAudit & Compliance\nServe as a key liaison with external auditors and advisors during the interim and year-end financial statement audits and FDDs\nManage audit requests and ensure timely delivery of responses to audit inquiries and high-quality supporting documentation\nEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies\nAssist with preparation of accounting memos and technical accounting documentation to ensure readiness for increased regulatory and audit scrutiny\nAssist in designing, documenting, and implementing internal controls consistent with public company SOX compliance requirements\nProcess Improvement & Automation\nIdentify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes and eliminate non-value-added activities\nStandardize accounting policies, procedures, and documentation across the department\nImprove reporting packages, reconciliation templates, and review procedures\nPartner with IT to optimize NetSuite, Workday, FloQast, and other accounting technologies\nLead initiatives that improve efficiency while strengthening internal controls\nBusiness Partnership\nPartner with FP&A, Tax, Legal, Franchise, Operations and other departments to improve financial processes\nSupport initiatives that improve working capital management and financial visibility\nAssist with acquisitions, new park openings, franchise growth initiatives, and other strategic projects\nProvide accounting guidance to business partners while balancing operational practicality with accounting requirements\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required\nCPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification required\n8-12+ years of accounting experience, with experience in IPO readiness and/or public company reporting\nPublic accounting experience (Big 4 a plus) and/or experience in a multi-unit, PE-backed, or high-growth environment preferred\nPrevious leadership experience managing accounting teams\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP\nProficiency in financial reporting systems (NetSuite is a plus) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a highly detail-oriented approach to reviewing financial data, identifying issues, and ensuring accuracy and completeness\nDemonstrated ability to lead change and develop scalable accounting processes\nProven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a demanding environment while maintaining precision, accountability, and sound judgment\nEffective communication skills, including the ability to partner cross-functionally and clearly explain complex accounting concepts\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThis position requires the ability to remain stationary while working at a computer and communicating via Teams or phone for extended periods.\n____________________\nCompensation range is $175-$182k + bonus based on qualifications, experience, and performance.
