Reporting to the Manager of Production, this role owns daily production execution, including staffing, output, quality, material readiness, training, and process adherence.\nWorking across Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, and NPI, the Production Supervisor will identify constraints, resolve issues, and drive consistent manufacturing performance.\nThe ideal candidate is a hands-on, people-focused leader who maintains a strong floor presence, holds teams accountable, uses data to make decisions, and continuously improves safety, quality, delivery, and cost.\nHow You’ll Make an Impact:\nProduction Leadership & Execution\nLead daily manufacturing operations for assigned production areas, lines, or programs.\n\nExecute production plans while maintaining expectations for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.\n\nEstablish daily targets, priorities, staffing plans, and labor allocation.\n\nMonitor production performance and quickly escalate material, quality, equipment, process, or staffing constraints.\n\nDevelop recovery plans when production falls behind schedule.\n\nMaintain strong floor leadership and standards for safety, organization, cleanliness, and 5S.\n\nTeam Leadership\nDirectly supervise production leads, technicians, assemblers, and operators.\n\nManage daily staffing, attendance, overtime, training, and operator qualification.\n\nSet clear expectations and provide regular coaching and actionable performance feedback.\n\nAddress productivity, quality, attendance, and performance concerns consistently and promptly.\n\nSupport onboarding and develop production leads and high-performing team members for increased responsibility.\n\nFoster a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.\n\nPerformance & Quality\nTrack key manufacturing metrics including output, build plan attainment, FPY, yield, scrap/rework, cycle time, labor efficiency, downtime, attendance, and training compliance.\n\nReview performance throughout the shift and take corrective action when results fall below expectations.\n\nEnsure teams follow approved work instructions, standard work, and quality requirements.\n\nPartner with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to investigate defects, process deviations, and recurring issues.\n\nSupport root-cause analysis, containment, and corrective actions to reduce manufacturing losses.\n\nProduction Readiness & Cross-Functional Leadership\nEnsure materials, tooling, equipment, documentation, staffing, and training are ready to support production.\n\nPartner with Planning, Supply Chain, and Materials teams to resolve shortages and production constraints.\n\nServe as the primary Production representative for assigned manufacturing areas.\n\nCommunicate production status, risks, staffing constraints, material shortages, and equipment concerns to leadership and cross-functional teams.\n\nSupport NPI and pilot builds as new products and processes transition into sustained production.\n\nMaintain effective communication and handoffs between shifts and production areas.\n\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve safety, quality, throughput, labor efficiency, production flow, and cost.\n\nPartner with Manufacturing Engineering on line balancing, standard work, workstation optimization, and process improvements.\n\nSupport Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nUse production data and operator feedback to identify root causes and drive sustainable improvements.\n\nHelp standardize successful processes and best practices across production areas.\n\nWhat Makes You a Good Fit:\nRequired\n3+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, operations, or a related environment.\n\nExperience leading or supervising production employees.\n\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, and shop-floor execution.\n\nExperience managing staffing, production priorities, and changing operational requirements.\n\nExperience using manufacturing KPIs such as output, yield, scrap, cycle time, downtime, and labor efficiency.\n\nStrong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.\n\nAbility to make timely decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nComfortable using computers and digital manufacturing systems.\n\nObtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions.\n\nPreferred\nExperience in aerospace, robotics, electronics, automotive, or other complex hardware manufacturing.\n\nExperience in high-volume or rapidly scaling manufacturing environments.\n\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, standard work, line balancing, and continuous improvement.\n\nExperience with NetSuite, Arena, and Slack, or comparable ERP, PLM, and communication systems.\n\nExperience with MES platforms, manufacturing dashboards, or production reporting systems.\n\nFamiliarity with structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis.\n\nExperience supporting NPI-to-production transitions.\n\nCompensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $113,750 - $146,250*.
