You'll play a vital role in bridging technical discovery and implementation for our wide range of customers. Your mission is to grasp and articulate customer needs, demonstrating the innovative features of Skydio's drone product line. You'll be the pivotal link between the efforts of our product and sales teams to create compelling, customer-specific demonstration plans that bring Skydio technology to life in real-world scenarios. Reporting directly to the Country Manager for Japan, you will collaborate extensively with our Product, Engineering, and Sales departments, contributing to the timely delivery of groundbreaking autonomous solutions.\nSolutions Engineers are critical members of the Skydio organization and work closely with Account Executives, Engineering, and Product to support deal progression, customer confidence, successful deployments, and the long-term success of commercial sUAS programs. Internally you are, in every sense, the voice of the customer.\nLocation: This is an office-based position at our Skydio GK HQ in Tokyo, Japan.Travel of 50 to 75% is required to support customer engagements, field activities, deployments, team onsites, and company events.\nHow you'll make an impact:\nFoster a deep understanding of customer needs, pinpointing key success metrics, and orchestrating tailored product demonstrations and field trials\n\nIndependently handle all facets of system demonstrations, from equipment setup and operation to troubleshooting, ensuring a compelling presentation of our technology's value to customers and partners\n\nLead the charge in system validation and customer implementation processes and successful deployment\n\nAssist in crafting responses for RFIs, RFPs, and other technical documentation\n\nAct as a voice of the customer within our team, influencing product development and engineering strategies based on field experiences and feedback\n\nSupport various go-to-market strategies and business activities as needed\n\nWhat makes you a good fit:\nSolid technical background in areas including professional drone applications, radio systems, networks, software, security, prototyping, and electronics\n\nGood understanding of the small uncrewed aircraft regulatory landscape\n\nRelevant experience serving our major industries like Defense, electrical utilities, architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC)\n\nExceptional communication and presentation skills, adaptable to various audience levels\n\nProven track record of implementing new technologies for diverse clients, collaborating effectively with technical teams to meet project timelines\n\nAt least 2 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience\n\nJapanese native speaker\n\nJapan drone certification a plus ( -/二等無人航空機操縦士)\n\nAbility to read and write English; communication required\n\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time, engaging closely with clients and stakeholders\n\nAt Skydio we believe that diversity drives innovation.
