Software Engineer - Backend

We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems that power international payments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS, and distributed systems. You'll own features end-to-end and work on mission-critical payment infrastructure where reliability and accuracy are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance payment processing and settlement systems.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services for customer-facing applications.
• Design reliable and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Ensure system scalability, availability, and high performance.
• Work on payment workflows, compliance, and operational tooling.
• Deploy and maintain services on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering teams, and Leadership.
• Take ownership of features from design through production support.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
• Experience designing Microservices.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs.
• Good understanding of SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Experience with AWS (EC2 RDS, S3 IAM, CloudWatch).
• Knowledge of Distributed Systems.
• Understanding of: Idempotency, Distributed Locking, Concurrency, Consistency, Failure Recovery.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in FinTech, Payments, Banking, or Financial Services.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Event-driven architecture (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Production monitoring and logging tools.
