This is a high-impact role where you will work closely with design, structures, manufacturing, quality assurance, and aviation regulatory authorities to establish structural integrity, manufacturing repeatability, and technical superiority.\nResponsibilities\nCertification & Regulatory Compliance: Develop and execute certification plans for materials (metals, composites, specialty materials) and processes used in the aircraft. Liaise and negotiate directly with aviation regulatory authorities (e.g., JCAB, FAA) to obtain approval for the certification process.\n\nAllowables & Materials Management: Generate and maintain material allowables (A-basis/B-basis) in accordance with industry standards (e.g., CMH-17, MMPDS), and own the company’s Approved Materials List (AML).\n\nFatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT): Define and maintain the fatigue and damage tolerance methodology for each material family (e.g., no-growth approach for composite structures, slow crack growth for metallic structures) in close coordination with the structural engineering team.\n\nProcess Specification & Control: Define, freeze, and control special manufacturing processes (curing, bonding, painting, surface treatments, NDI), and lead requalification decisions when supplier or process changes occur.\n\nTesting & Quality Oversight: Manage testing and evaluation required for material qualification and certification. Collaborate with suppliers and external testing laboratories to ensure material quality and reliability.\n\nProduction & MRB Support: Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) to support non-conformance dispositions and root-cause failure investigations (including fractography and NDI evaluation).\n\nTechnical Documentation: Create, review, and approve technical specifications, qualification reports, and certification documentation.\n\nR&D for Next-Gen Airframes: Investigate and evaluate high-performance, lightweight advanced materials and innovative manufacturing processes for future aircraft platforms.\n\nEssential Skills\nAerospace Materials Experience: Demonstrated experience in R&D, qualification, or technical evaluation of aerospace materials (composites, metals, adhesives, coatings, etc.).\n\nRegulatory Knowledge: Practical knowledge of aviation materials/process standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., JCAB AIM Part II, FAA Part 23/27/29, 21.17(b) powered-lift, or EASA SC-VTOL requirements).\n\nTechnical Communication: Ability to create formal engineering specifications, technical reports, and regulatory compliance documents.\n\nDesirable Skills\nAllowables Methodology: Practical experience using CMH-17, MMPDS, or equivalent industry frameworks to establish design allowables.\n\nSpecial Processes & Quality Standards: Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP audit/qualification requirements, and special process control.\n\nAuthority Engagement: Experience directly negotiating or coordinating certification plans with civil aviation authorities (JCAB, FAA, EASA).\n\nAdvanced Technical Expertise: Knowledge of Fracture Mechanics, Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) methodologies, and fractography/failure analysis.\n\nProgram Experience: Certification experience on a new, clean-sheet aircraft or advanced air mobility program.\n\nDegree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.\n\nLanguage: Business-level English proficiency (Japanese proficiency is a strong advantage for direct JCAB coordination).\n\nSkills for Collaborative Success\nAmbiguity Management: Comfortable operating with incomplete or evolving requirements, and proactive in flagging engineering gaps rather than waiting for them to be resolved elsewhere.\n\nProblem-Solving & Logic: Excellent analytical thinking and technical problem-solving skills to navigate complex engineering and certification challenges.\n\nSelf-Starter Drive: Ability to independently generate ideas, take initiative, and drive projects forward across multi-disciplinary teams.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Strong coordination and communication skills to align design, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory stakeholders.\n\nType of Employment\nPermanent Employee or Contract Employee\nProbationary period: 3~6 month\nPlace of Employment\nNagoya Airport Office: Nagoya Airport Terminal Building 2nd floor, Toyoba, Toyoyama-Cho, Nishikasugai, Aichi PrefectureMeasures to Prevent Secondhand Smoke: Smoking Room Provided\n\nToyota Base - Asahi, Toyota City, Aichi PrefectureMeasures to Prevent Secondhand Smoke: Not Available\n\nScope of Change: Places determined by the Company (including places where telework is performed)\nWorking Hours\nFlextime or Discretionary labor systemIn the case of flextime: No core time\nIn case of Discretionary Labor System: Specialized Class Deemed working hours per day: 10 hours\n\nBasic working hours: Start 9:00 End 18:00（Including 1hour break time）Overtime Work: Available\n\nHolidays\n115 days off per year（Saturday / Sundays / Newyear holidays（12/29～1/3） / Company designated holidays）\nAnnual paid leave\nRefresh leave (Granted after 1, 3, 4, 5 years of service)\nSalary\nEstimated Annual Salary: JPY 7,000,000- JPY 10,000,000\nMonthly Salary: JPY 584,000- JPY 834,000Includes fixed overtime pay for 45 hours, amounting to JPY 202,181 -
