This candidate needs to have hands-on experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and the Microsoft Security ecosystem, including Microsoft Purview. This role supports the protection of sensitive government and enterprise data across cloud, endpoint, and database environments, with a strong focus on compliance, governance, and risk reduction.\nThis position is based on-site at the Beltsville, MD office, with occasional travel to the Washington, DC office.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, implement, and maintain DLP policies within Microsoft 365 and related security services.\nConfigure and manage Microsoft Purview capabilities, including:DLP policies\nSensitivity labels and information protection\nData classification and governance controls\n\nProtect sensitive data across structured data sources, including SQL databases and data platforms.\nPartner with database, cloud, and application teams to ensure sensitive data is properly classified, monitored, and protected.\nMonitor DLP alerts, investigate incidents, and support response and remediation efforts.\nSupport security compliance and audit activities aligned with federal and organizational requirements.\nCreate and maintain security documentation, procedures, and standards.\nOperate in accordance with security best practices for cleared environments.\nRequired Qualifications:\n5+ years of hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and the Microsoft Security ecosystem.\nMust have a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance is required.\nMust be able to commute to Beltsville, MD and occasionally to Washington, DC for full-time onsite work.\nMust have a security background combined with data and database familiarity (e.g., SQL) and experience operating in a federal environment.\nExperience working within the Microsoft Security stack, including Microsoft 365 security features.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Purview or Microsoft Sentinel, particularly for DLP, data classification, or information protection.\nExperience or working knowledge of SQL or database environments, especially as it relates to data security and governance.\nUnderstanding of data protection principles, sensitive data types, and access controls.\nStrong analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.\nUS Citizenship is required.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience implementing DLP or Purview controls in government or cleared environments.\nBackground in database administration, data management, or data engineering with a security focus.\nFamiliarity with security or compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST).\nMicrosoft security certifications (SC-400, SC-200, Azure Security), preferred but not required.\nCompensation:\nSalary Range: $130,000-$150,000\nThe SkyePoint Decisions salary range for this position is a general guideline only.
