Come invent something new with us.\nAbout the Role:\nWe’re seeking a Senior QA Engineer to assist us with our ongoing software testing. You will be performing exploratory testing, automated testing, and bug reporting within a cross-functional team. This is a highly collaborative role and requires excellent verbal and written communication.\nThis might be the perfect role for you if you are excited by\nBeing highly collaborative within a cross-functional pod that includes product, engineering and design.\nWorking within a team that values feedback and gives it openly and regularly.\nBeing embedded in an engineering team where quality is a shared responsibility.\nHaving a valued and sought after opinion when it comes to project scope and design.\nDigging deep to reproduce and identify root causes to share with engineers and product.\nDeveloping a deep empathy for our users and advocating for their experience.\nContributing to a product that our customers genuinely love because it solves real, everyday problems for busy families and those with neurodivergent kids (the ADHD and Autism communities are among our biggest fans)\nResponsibilities\nCollaborating with product and engineering during project scoping and refinement to identify risk and establish test plans.\nManual exploratory testing and validation of new projects within your pod.\nTesting Android-based software running on custom hardware and firmware.\nWorking with engineers and QA to define, design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts across and between our tech stacks (mobile, android, web, backend).\nParticipating in bug triage and incident response to reproduce and advocate for timely resolution of important software defects.\nCollaborating with QA team members across pods to improve testing efficiency and foster a sustainable workload amongst the team.\nRequirements\n5+ years of experience in the quality assurance field\nClear and effective verbal and written communication\nCapable of analyzing business requirements from a customer’s perspective\nHands-on testing experience with mobile devices (Android + iOS)\nExperience testing software on embedded Android devices\nFamiliarity with ADB, system logs, and Android internals\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nAbility to identify and foresee requirement gaps\nExperienced with logging and tracking defects throughout the defect lifecycle\nStrong understanding of the SDLC, Agile testing, and software testing methodologies\nBenefits\nOur competitive compensation package includes:\nCompetitive Salary + Equity Package\n401K matching\nWellness, learning, and home-office budgets\nHealth, Dental & Vision Medical Plans\nTremendous autonomy to set the direction of your work\nUnlimited PTO\nCompany holidays on the first Friday of every month (Except November & December)\nEqual opportunity employer\nSkylight is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
