Your focus will be on understanding emerging opportunities, developing technical approaches, and rapidly building prototypes that demonstrate real business value.\nThis is a hands-on, zero-to-one engineering role for someone who likes building as much as thinking.\nThis is a hybrid role requiring regular in-office presence at our Mountain View, CA location.\nWhat You'll Do\nExplore emerging applications of agentic AI across telecommunications, identity, discovery, and network services.\n\nIdentify business opportunities and translate ambiguous ideas into technical experiments and working prototypes.\n\nDesign and build agentic AI systems using LLM orchestration, tool integrations, and emerging agent communication protocols.\n\nApply concepts from enterprise identity and security, including authentication, authorization, OAuth, SSO, and zero-trust architectures, to emerging agent ecosystems.\n\nDevelop working proof-of-concepts, APIs, services, and demonstrations to validate new technical approaches.\n\nEvaluate technical trade-offs across AI agents, identity infrastructure, cloud services, and network systems.\n\nCollaborate with product and engineering leaders to assess feasibility, commercial relevance, and opportunities for product development.\n\nHelp establish architectural patterns and technical foundations for promising prototypes.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nStrong hands-on software engineering experience, with demonstrated ability to independently design and build working systems.\n\nExperience building applications using LLMs, agentic frameworks, tool calling, or multi-agent architectures.\n\nFamiliarity with identity, authentication, authorization, service discovery, or distributed systems.\n\nAbility to learn and apply emerging protocols such as MCP and A2A.\n\nStrong technical judgment and an ability to navigate ambiguous, open-ended problems.\n\nExperience rapidly developing prototypes, proof-of-concepts, or early-stage products.\n\nSolid backend development skills in Python, Go, Java, or TypeScript.\n\nUnderstanding of APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architectures.\n\nA curious, experimental mindset and the ability to connect technical possibilities with business opportunities.\n\nStrong communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional stakeholders.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with agent identity, verifiable credentials, decentralized identifiers, or agent registries.\n\nBackground in enterprise identity, IAM, SSO, OAuth, or zero-trust security.\n\nExperience in telecom, 5G core, NTN, network APIs, IoT, or network equipment.\n\nExperience at an early-stage startup, research lab, or advanced technology team.\n\nContributions to open-source projects involving AI agents, identity, or agent protocols.\n\nExperience taking an experimental project from concept through customer or partner validation.\n\nAdvanced degree in AI, computer science, networking, or a related field.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nYou'll be successful if you can independently identify promising technical opportunities, build compelling demonstrations, and help Skylo determine which emerging agentic AI capabilities have the potential to become valuable products or services.\nWhat We Offer\nWith employees working across three continents, Skylo is proud to be an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
