Summary of How You Will Impact Skylo

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join Skylo’s Finance team and support the accounting operations of a growing global technology company.

You will play a key role in the monthly close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. You will work closely with the broader Finance team and cross-functional partners to ensure our financial records are accurate, timely, and scalable as the business continues to grow.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the details while also looking for ways to improve processes and build stronger accounting infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and other general ledger activity

• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules

• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, fixed assets, and other accounting activities as needed

• Review financial activity and investigate unusual transactions or variances

• Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting

• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with GAAP

• Assist with annual audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements by preparing schedules and supporting documentation

• Partner with FP&A, People, Legal, Procurement, and other teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely

• Help maintain and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation

• Identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual accounting processes

• Support implementation and improvement of finance systems and workflows as Skylo scales

• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and accounting projects

What We Look For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles

• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting

• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills

• High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams

• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment

Nice to Have

• CPA or progress toward CPA certification

• Experience at a high-growth technology company

• Experience with SaaS, telecommunications, hardware, or other technology businesses

• Experience with ERP and financial systems such as NetSuite

• Experience supporting audits and implementing accounting controls

• Experience working with international entities or global accounting operations

The estimated base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $117,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant training.

In addition to base salary, Skylo offers a competitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and equity options.
