Enabling people outdoors and critical workflows in the world's most remote places.\nThis is a rare chance to work on technology that matters, at a company that's already proving it works\nAbout Skylo\nSkylo is a global Non-Terrestrial Network service provider based in Mountain View, CA, offering a service that allows smartphone and IoT cellular devices to connect directly over existing satellites.\nSkylo’s direct-to-device service is live across five continents, working with satellite operators, mobile network operators, chipset manufacturers, OEMs, and other partners to bring satellite connectivity to everyday devices.\nSummary of How You Will Impact Skylo\nWe are looking for a Staff Accountant to join Skylo’s Finance team and support the accounting operations of a growing global technology company.\nYou will play a key role in the monthly close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. You will work closely with the broader Finance team and cross-functional partners to ensure our financial records are accurate, timely, and scalable as the business continues to grow.\nThis is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the details while also looking for ways to improve processes and build stronger accounting infrastructure.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process\n\nPrepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and other general ledger activity\n\nPrepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules\n\nAssist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, fixed assets, and other accounting activities as needed\n\nReview financial activity and investigate unusual transactions or variances\n\nSupport preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting\n\nMaintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with GAAP\n\nAssist with annual audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements by preparing schedules and supporting documentation\n\nPartner with FP&A, People, Legal, Procurement, and other teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely\n\nHelp maintain and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation\n\nIdentify opportunities to automate or streamline manual accounting processes\n\nSupport implementation and improvement of finance systems and workflows as Skylo scales\n\nAssist with ad hoc financial analysis and accounting projects\n\nWhat We Look For\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\n\n5+ years of relevant accounting experience\n\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles\n\nExperience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting\n\nStrong Excel or Google Sheets skills\n\nHigh attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities\n\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills\n\nAbility to work independently and collaborate across teams\n\nComfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment\n\nNice to Have\nCPA or progress toward CPA certification\n\nExperience at a high-growth technology company\n\nExperience with SaaS, telecommunications, hardware, or other technology businesses\n\nExperience with ERP and financial systems such as NetSuite\n\nExperience supporting audits and implementing accounting controls\n\nExperience working with international entities or global accounting operations\n\nWhat Makes This Role Exciting\nSkylo is building a new category of global connectivity at the intersection of wireless, satellite, cloud, and consumer technology.
