In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design, architecture, and implementation of the Skylo Data Mobility Platform or/and Subscriber & Provisioning Platform. You will be instrumental in creating best-in-class software infrastructure solutions, combining your deep technical knowledge with a passion for excellence. Your work will directly support the development of cloud services and the deployment of a highly scalable and resilient cloud-based software platform. You will also contribute to building cloud systems that are resilient, secure, and address data privacy.\nHow You Will Contribute\nLead the design, implementation, and testing of larger features and components.\n\nWork closely with junior engineers, implementing best practices and actively engaging in design and code reviews.\n\nDesign and develop distributed application services, microservices, and scalable database systems.\n\nDefine, design, and implement REST APIs, building out Swagger UI and Postman collections.\n\nDevelop applications using Java/GoLang, GCP Pub/Sub, SQL DB, and Web hook integration.\n\nImplement unit testing using JUnit for Java and standard testing frameworks for Go.\n\nIntegrate with third-party application systems using REST APIs and/or messaging queues.\n\nDefine and execute component test scenarios and test cases, including unit testing, code coverage, and API test automation.\n\nParticipate in build and deployment processes using tools like Jira, Jenkins, GCR/GKE.\n\nEnforce security best practices in both software development and deployment.\n\nDrive observability using Prometheus and log/data collectors for monitoring and diagnostics.\n\nEvaluate and adopt new technologies to improve system performance and developer productivity.\n\nWhat We Look For\n8+ years of experience in professional software development with a focus on object-oriented programming (OOP) and distributed microservices.\n\nA Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n\nWide-ranging experience with cloud technologies and tech stacks, with the ability to resolve complex issues creatively and effectively.\n\nProficiency in Java and Go programming languages.\n\nExperience developing microservices using the Spring-Boot framework or Go language frameworks.\n\nExpertise in query optimization, partitioning, and performance tuning in SQL and big data query engines.\n\nPrior working experience with messaging brokers like Kafka or GCP Pub/Sub to build event-driven microservices architectures.\n\nExperience with REST API and gRPC design.\n\nStrong understanding of distributed systems for massive horizontal scaling.\n\nWorking experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, and GCP.\n\nSolid understanding of database technologies, including Redis, SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).\n\nStrong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions.\n\nWhat We Offer\nWith employees working across three continents, Skylo is proud to be an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
