Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you help ensure the plant operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.\nThe role starts with a strong Maintenance Engineering focus. Your priority will be to help establish the maintenance and reliability foundation of DSL-01 by answering a fundamental question: \"how do we maintain our assets safely, reliably, and efficiently throughout their lifecycle?\"\nYou will translate reliability studies, equipment criticality assessments, and integrity requirements into practical maintenance plans, inspection programmes, spare parts strategies, and asset management processes.\nAs the facility moves into stable operations, the focus gradually shifts towards Reliability Engineering, where you will use asset health monitoring, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to prevent failures and improve long-term asset performance.\nWorking closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and external specialists, you will help reduce technical risk and improve asset reliability from day one.\nYou will:\nDevelop and continuously improve maintenance, inspection, and asset integrity strategies\n\nTranslate reliability studies, FMECA analyses, and engineering data into practical maintenance plans within the CMMS/EAM system\n\nAct as owner of the asset register from a maintenance, reliability, and integrity perspective\n\nSupport the implementation and continuous development of the facility's CMMS/EAM system\n\nDrive reliability improvements through asset health monitoring, KPI analysis, and predictive maintenance techniques\n\nLead Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions\n\nMonitor and improve reliability performance indicators such as MTBF, MTTR, availability, and inspection compliance\n\nSupport asset improvement, modification, and long-term replacement strategies throughout the asset lifecycle\n\nYour profile\nAs a growing company in a rapidly evolving industry, we are looking for people who embrace change and are motivated to actively contribute to building and scaling our business. You are someone who feels comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, takes ownership, and enjoys turning complex technical challenges into practical solutions.\nYou recognize yourself in the following:\nMust have\nFluent in Dutch and English\n\nBachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (i.e. electrical or mechanical)\n\n5+ years of experience in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Asset Integrity, or Asset Management\n\nExperience with RCM, FMEA/FMECA, RCA, and maintenance strategy development\n\nExperience with CMMS/EAM systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, or IFS\n\nPreferred\nExperience in chemical, petrochemical, energy, or other process industries like food or FMCG\n\nExperience with CMMS/EAM implementation or optimisation\n\nExperience with predictive maintenance and condition monitoring\n\nKnowledge of ATEX, PED, and asset integrity management\n\nAbout DSL-01\nDSL-01 is SkyNRG’s frontrunning renewable fuels facility in Delfzijl, Netherlands. The plant will produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from residual fats and greases using the HEFA (Hydrotreated Esters and Fatty Acids) pathway, with additional renewable products like butane, propane, and naphtha as by-products.\nDSL-01 is the first facility in Europe dedicated entirely to SAF and its by-products. Once operational, it will produce 100,000 tonnes of SAF and 35,000 tonnes of sustainable by-products per year, cutting greenhouse gas emissions by around 80% compared to conventional jet fuel.\nConstruction started in 2026, with first fuel expected in 2028. The project includes the main facility, pipelines, and temporary work areas. At DSL-01, you will be part of a team building a state-of-the-art industrial plant from the ground up, contributing to a truly sustainable energy future.\nEnvironmental and social responsibility are at the heart of DSL-01.
