If you do not meet this residency requirement, we will not be able to progress your application.\nPlease only apply if you meet both of these requirements: five days per week onsite in Warminster, Wiltshire, and five years’ UK residency for SC clearance.\nWhat We Are Looking For:\nProven ability to lead a software development team\n\nExperience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.\n\nAbility to engage with MOD customer and commercial content providers\n\nAbility to translate architecture into working systems.\n\nAbility to unblock teams across modelling, integration, and platform issues.\n\nA solid understanding of modelling and simulation principles.\n\nA strong grounding in distributed systems design.\n\nKey Technical Proficiencies:\nC++ and Go (Golang).\n\nCloud Native Computing & SDLC (Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, ORAS, ArgoCD etc.)\n\nStrong debugging and problem-solving skills across system boundaries.\n\nAbility to reason about performance, latency, and system behaviour.\n\nFamiliarity with containerisation, Kubernetes-style environments, and distributed deployments.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Responsible For:\nLeading a team of developers and the Skyral primary point of contact at Warminster.\n\nYou will hold technical accountability across multiple concurrent projects, whilst ensuring the team delivers a fully working training system, not just components.\n\nSupport the development solution architectures and turn these into implementation.\n\nMake technical decisions across modelling, integration, and platform usage.\n\nStep into problems across modelling challenges, integration issues, deployment blockers and guide engineering work across all disciplines.\n\nEnsure solutions are designed to be composable, reusable, and comply with platform-first principles.\n\nAct as the final escalation point for technical issues on site.\n\nMaintain momentum across multiple parallel workstreams.\n\nNote: Please feel empowered to apply for this position, even if you think you may only align with some of the qualities listed above.
