You will be required to work from the Warminster site five days per week. If you do not meet this residency requirement, we will not be able to progress your application.\nPlease only apply if you meet both of these requirements: five days per week onsite in Warminster, Wiltshire, and five years’ UK residency for SC clearance.\nWhat You’ll Be Responsible For:\nDevelop and adapt models based on customer-provided data, SME input and training needs.\n\nImplement behavioural logic, effects, interactions, and environmental responses in a way that is both representative and computationally efficient.\n\nTune models to balance fidelity, performance, and scalability, making pragmatic trade-offs based on how the model will actually be used.\n\nDesign models to be reusable and composable, contributing to a broader simulation ecosystem rather than one-off implementations.\n\nEnsure models behave coherently when composed with other models and systems, including handling timing, synchronisation, and interaction consistency.\n\nIntegrate models with other simulation components, terrain, and environment systems, and external systems (e.g. via HLA, DIS, APIs).\n\nWorking closely with our Simulation Integration Engineers, Simulation Content Engineer, and Quality Assurance Engineer.\n\nTake ownership of a primary modelling area (e.g. capability & effects, human behaviour, environment, or interoperability) while contributing across domains where required.\n\nMentor and review the work of other modelling engineers to raise the technical bar across the team.\n\nSupport iterative improvement based on validation outcomes, exercise feedback, and operational use.\n\nNote: Please feel empowered to apply for this position, even if you think you may only align with some of the qualities listed above. You will build models that are used in real training systems, where performance, integration, and usability matter as much as correctness.\nStrong analytical and systems thinking mindset, with the ability to make architectural decisions when faced with uncertainty.\n\nExperience of working across multiple modelling domains, and able to guide others\n\nAble to set technical direction, define modelling approaches, and mentor less experienced engineers.\n\nAble to realism with practical constraints such as performance, fidelity and scalability.\n\nCurious and willing to challenge assumptions.\n\nComfortable iterating based on feedback, imperfect data, and evolving requirements..\n\nKey Technical Proficiencies:\nStrong programming in high-performance C++ and Python.\n\nProven track record of designing and delivering real-time systems and simulation components or engines.\n\nA strong understanding of modelling approaches including: Agent based modelling, Behavioural modelling, CNI modelling and physics/effects modelling.\n\nHighly experienced with model calibration and tuning, representational fidelity and real-time simulation constraints.\n\nExperience working with real-time 3D simulation and visualisation platforms such as Unity and Unreal Engine.\n\nExperience designing models that can be reused and composed as part of a wider system, not built in isolation.\n\nExperience in one or more of the following: military capability modelling, human behaviour modelling, environmental modelling, terrain / GIS systems.\n\nExperience defining modelling architecture and reuse strategy across a programme, not just within a single
