(No big deal).\nIngest new data sources into the CMS Chronic Conditions Data Warehouse (CCW), helping expand access to valuable healthcare data for research and policy innovation.\nBuild, optimize, and maintain data views that integrate new and existing datasets-ensuring accuracy, clarity, and usability for analysts and researchers.\nDesign and support ETL workflows in a cloud data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake), ensuring reliability and scalability of data loading operations.\nSupport production operations, including rotation-based responsibilities for ETL loads-some of which may occur off-hours or on weekends.\nDocument processes and business logic, creating reliable technical references that support audits, troubleshooting, and onboarding.\nCollaborate closely with data analysts, technical leads, and CMS partners to align data structures with end-user needs and program goals.\nProactively identify and resolve database or performance issues, contributing to continuous improvement of data systems.\nWhat we'd like you to have:\nA bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or a related field.\n2+ years of experience as a Database Developer, ideally in a government or healthcare setting.\nHands-on experience with SQL, Python, ETL development, and Snowflake data warehouse concepts.\nExposure to AI or Machine Learning for data quality and anomaly detection.\nAn understanding of data management best practices (permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring).\nFamiliarity with front-end requirements and ability to translate business needs into backend solutions.\nKnowledge of development tools such as the .NET Framework, JavaScript, HTML, and Oracle.\nA proactive problem-solving attitude and strong communication skills.\nWhat would blow us away:\nYou’ve supported CMS or similar federal health data programs before.\nYou’ve worked with Snowflake or modern cloud-based data warehouses.\nEven if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications, we encourage you to apply.
