The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure that supports Slate's IT and OT (Operational Technology) environments, including manufacturing plants, office spaces, and connected vehicle ecosystems. The ideal candidate will bring experience with secure network architecture, advanced troubleshooting skills, and a deep understanding of automotive industry requirements, including cybersecurity standards and IoT/connected car technology.\nWHAT YOU GET TO DO\nNetwork Design & Implementation:\nDesign, configure, and deploy scalable and secure network infrastructure for office, plant, and R&D environments.\nCollaborate with IT and OT teams to support manufacturing systems, robotics, and in-vehicle communications.\nImplement network solutions to support vehicle connectivity, telematics, and cloud-based automotive services.\nMaintenance & Optimization:\nMonitor and maintain network health across WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.\nProactively optimize network performance and reduce latency for critical applications, including production systems and connected vehicle data.\nConduct regular network assessments and vulnerability scans to ensure compliance with automotive cybersecurity standards.\nTroubleshooting & Support:\nDiagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues in real-time to minimize downtime, especially in high-demand manufacturing environments.\nProvide Tier 2 and Tier 3 network support for IT, OT, and in-vehicle network issues.\nDocumentation & Reporting:\nCreate and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including architecture diagrams, IP schemas, and device inventory.\nPrepare regular reports on network performance, incidents, and key metrics.\nWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM\nRequirements:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).\nExperience: 3-5 years of experience as a Network Engineer, ideally within the automotive, manufacturing, or telecommunications industries.\nProficiency with Cisco, Juniper, and/or other major network hardware and software.\nExperience with firewall management, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network monitoring tools.\nKnowledge of automotive cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434) and familiarity with IoT/IIoT technologies.\nHands-on experience with wireless networking, VLANs, and network segmentation.\nCertifications: Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), CompTIA Network+, or similar certifications preferred.\nSoft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.\nWHY JOIN TEAM SLATE?\nAt Slate, we’re fueled by grit, determination, and attention to detail.
