This role ensures that all maintenance personnel are properly trained, qualified, and compliant with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to support safe, reliable, and efficient facilities operations. This position reports to the Manager of Facilities Maintenance\nWHAT YOU GET TO DO\nTraining Program Development and Management\nDevelop, implement, and maintain comprehensive training programs for factory maintenance personnel, including technical, operational, safety, and compliance training.\nCoordinate onboarding and ongoing training in alignment with departmental objectives and organizational standards.\nCoordinate and standardize training for all maintenance personnel at all manufacturing sites.\nIdentify training needs through collaboration with facilities leadership, supervisors, and subject matter experts.\nCurriculum, Documentation, and Records\nCreate and maintain training materials, curricula, standard work, and related documentation.\nEnsure training content aligns with equipment requirements, manufacturer recommendations, safety standards, and regulatory obligations.\nMaintain accurate training records, certifications, and competency documentation in applicable systems.\nTraining Delivery and Evaluation\nCoordinate internal and external training sessions, including scheduling instructors, technicians, and required resources.\nSupport a variety of training delivery methods, including classroom, hands-on, and digital learning.\nEvaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements based on feedback, performance metrics, and operational outcomes.\nCompliance and Safety\nEnsure training programs support compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.\nCoordinate required certifications, refresher training, and compliance-driven education.\nSupport audits, inspections, and reporting related to training and workforce competency.\nCollaboration and Continuous Improvement\nPartner with all Maintenance Departments, Engineering, Safety, Human Resources, and other stakeholders to align training initiatives with organizational goals.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives by identifying skill gaps and development opportunities.\nStay informed of industry trends and best practices related to facilities training and workforce development.\nWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Training & Development, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience; or\nDemonstrated experience coordinating, developing, or delivering technical or operational training, preferably in a facilities or maintenance environment.\nKnowledge of facilities maintenance practices, equipment, and safety requirements.\nStrong organizational, communication, and instructional skills.\nAbility to develop clear, effective training materials and maintain accurate documentation.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting facilities systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation.\nExperience in centralized or multi-site facilities operations.\nRelevant training, safety, or maintenance certifications.\nWorking Conditions\nPrimarily office-based with regular interaction in facilities or plant environments.\nOccasional off-hours or weekend work may be required to support training or operational needs.\nWHY JOIN TEAM SLATE?\nAt Slate, we’re fueled by grit, determination, and attention to detail.
