Slate is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space. Our technology is designed to deliver the most reliable and most efficient low cost-of-ownership electric vehicle on the market.\n| WHAT YOU GET TO DO\nThe Sr. ADAS Release Engineer will develop the requirements and manage the Tier 1 suppliers for Front Camera module and other features listed in the Program Description Letter.\nThis Engineer will report to the Manager, Electrical Hardware and Accessories and will be responsible for driving the development of the electrical ADAS requirements for all the Slate battery electric vehicles. The Engineer will be challenged to develop unique solutions for camera systems for a non-traditional vehicle. Responsibilities will be broad in scope and complex requiring creativity, superior initiative, good judgement, and leadership skills. This is a hands-on position that will also require leadership of Tier 1 suppliers.\nKey responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nRelease the control module(s) Part Numbers in the Product Lifecycle Management system and maintain release levels as the design matures.\nReview hardware design with cross functional teams to ensure the hardware meets requirements.\nDevelop and document test plans for the required front camera module.\nLead DFMEA reviews to identify technical risks and drive the controls logic to improve detection and reduce potential failures of the design\nTrain technicians and troubleshooters on the theory of operations and controls logic behind each sub-system and component\nWork with HIL/SIL Validation Engineers to develop test plans to ensure the design meets program requirements. Iterate as issues are uncovered. \nImplement and maintain cyber-security best practices to ensure robust customer and corporation protection over the lifecycle\nUtilize LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout\n| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics or Computer Software Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program is preferred.\n5 years relevant experience\nHands on / detail oriented\nComfortable working with low voltage and high voltage systems\nExcellent communication Team building and relationship building skills.\nSpecific experience includingOpened and closed loop control systems for sensors, actuators, body controller, ECUs, etc.\nLow voltage components such as circuit breakers, relays, wiring, etc.\nHigh voltage components such as DCDC, motor and inverter, battery, and on-board charger, etc.\nCAN-Bus, LIN, and Ethernet communication protocol\nMATLAB, Simulink, and State flowchart\n8D, five whys, and fishbone process to diagnose complex issues\nIndustry standards such as FMVSSS, NHTSA, DOT, NFPA, SAE, NEC, etc.\n\nApplicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
