Jupiter Bach is taking the next step in its development as a partner to the global wind industry. Building on our strong position within composite manufacturing, we are expanding our capabilities across engineering, assembly and full-system delivery, supporting leading wind OEMs.

This development requires a stronger and more integrated approach to how materials are qualified, tested, traced and documented across our global organisation.

As our new Senior Engineer, Materials and Testing, you will take ownership of that development.

The opportunity

You will lead the development and governance of Jupiter Bach’s global approach to materials and testing, creating the standard methods, processes and documentation needed to ensure consistent ways of working across four testing facilities.

Your role is to understand the current testing and materials landscape, define the future direction and translate it into practical standards. Working across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Product Development, you will ensure that test methods are reliable, results are comparable and material data can be traced throughout the product lifecycle.

This is a role for someone who wants to use materials and laboratory expertise to create organisational impact. You will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, processes and ways of working across Jupiter Bach and establish the foundation needed to qualify materials and replicate approved products consistently across locations.

What you will work with

You will take responsibility for developing and governing Jupiter Bach’s global materials and testing framework.

A key part of the role will be to:

  • Establish and govern standardised test methods and documentation practices across all Jupiter Bach laboratories

  • Ensure that test setups, sampling methods, equipment, calibration and validation procedures produce reliable and comparable results across locations

  • Create robust traceability for materials and test samples, including supplier information, batch and lot numbers, manufacturing dates, storage conditions, shelf life and expiry dates

  • Develop the documentation needed to replicate an approved product consistently using the correct material system, batch information, process parameters and qualification evidence

  • Own and develop the global materials database, including approved and rejected materials, technical and safety data sheets, qualification reports and performance data

  • Lead qualification programmes for resins, fibres, coatings, corrosion protection and fire protection systems

  • Develop and validate composite material combinations and document the material properties needed for certification, design optimisation and manufacturing decisions

  • Establish common incoming inspection and quality monitoring methods for sourced materials

  • Define requirements for laboratories, equipment standards and calibration practices across the organisation

  • Follow developments in bio-based, recyclable and second-life materials and assess their potential application in future products

You will work across functions and locations, combining technical direction with the practical implementation needed to make common standards and processes work across the organisation.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with strong materials and testing expertise who understands how laboratory methods, material data and traceability connect with manufacturing and product quality.

You are comfortable working across laboratories, systems and functions. You can translate technical requirements into practical standards and create alignment between stakeholders with different priorities and technical perspectives.

We expect you to bring:

  • At least five years of relevant experience within materials engineering, composite technologies, laboratory testing or a closely related field

  • Experience operating or developing engineering laboratories and test facilities according to international standards

  • Strong knowledge of test-method development, material qualification, repeatability, calibration and technical documentation

  • Experience with composite materials such as resins, fibres, coatings and protection systems

  • Understanding of batch or lot traceability, shelf-life control and material data management within an industrial manufacturing environment

  • Experience collaborating across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Product Development

  • Familiarity with material databases, PLM, ERP or similar digital engineering systems

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Professional fluency in English and willingness to travel internationally

A background in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Composite Engineering or a similar technical discipline is relevant, but practical experience and a strong understanding of industrial materials and testing are equally important.

Experience harmonising test methods and standards across multiple laboratories or manufacturing locations is an advantage.

Why Jupiter Bach?

Jupiter Bach is expanding from a strong composite manufacturing base towards broader engineering and full-system capabilities.

For an experienced materials and testing professional, this creates an opportunity to shape the methods, data and governance that support reliable product development and manufacturing across the organisation.

You will join an international organisation working with leading wind OEMs and have the opportunity to contribute directly to product quality, sourcing flexibility, sustainability and Jupiter Bach’s future engineering capabilities.
