The\nDiscipline Engineering Manager is ultimately responsible for the quality of the engineering work being executed and delivered by the team. The role also provides training and support to the team on technical matters related to discipline specific engineering\nActivities\nLead technical activities and provide guidance on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping and structural design fields, and facilitate the integration of the team with other teams within the Engineering Execution Center.\nReview, validate, and monitor work of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, and structural engineers and designers.\nAdvise and assist team, projects and construction managers, QA/QC, and sub-suppliers with the interpretation and clarification of construction documents.\nMonitor and assess engineering performance and quality and provide feedback for improvement.\nUndertake site or sub-supplier visits as required to investigate/troubleshoot/resolve technical issues.\nAssess team skills/competencies and create individual development plans and training programs to develop the team.\nMonitor resource loading and develop action plans for staffing as required.\nReview and update practices, procedures, and forms required for engineering execution.\nRollout out new engineering processes and software. Review and improve the existing process and system.\nCheck, approve, and validate engineering deliverables for proposals and projects.\nUndertake FAT’s and other inspections/visits as required.\nParticipate in 3D model, HAZOP review, and other design review meetings and provide input.\nParticipate in client meetings as required to provide technical input and execution guidance.\nUndertake root cause analysis and provide reports to non-conformances identified on projects.\nAssist with recruitment and undertake interviews as required.\nParticipate in review of third-party engineering company competencies.\nReview and approve labor hours estimation and review of scope matrix/technical clarifications prepared by discipline engineers.\nAdvise and assist project and discipline engineers with the interpretation and clarification of applicable industry codes and client specification requirements.\nEnsure engineers within the team provide input on the “Lessons learned” process and utilize findings from the process to update tools and processes.\nGuide the team on the “Management of Change” process and promote its utilization by discipline engineers during the project execution.\nProvide advice to the team in identifying the right engineering design vendor and executing the project in line with the schedule and budget.\nEducation Qualification:\nBachelor Degree in Engineering Discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, E&I, Structural, Piping, or Equivalent)\nExperience :\n15+ years of industry experience.\nPrior design work experience as lead for a minimum of 5 years within any discipline engineering.\nDeep understanding of specific engineering principles, practices and tools. Proficiency in relevant software and technologies.\nKnowledge of relevant industry standards.\nStrong leadership and team management skills.\nProven experience in managing complex engineering projects. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools\nExperience in executing proposal, FEED, and detail engineering of oil and gas projects.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
