The Legal function is a strategic partner to the business, focused on enabling growth while safeguarding the company through rigorous compliance, high standards of integrity, and disciplined risk management.\nYou will be the in-country lawyer for our Egypt operations, reporting directly to the General Counsel, MENA, with a broad commercial, regulatory and compliance mandate in the oilfield services sector.\nResponsibilities:\nDraft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including customer, supplier, agency and distribution, leasing and services agreements.\nSupport general commercial transactions, such as joint ventures, restructurings, entity matters and financing support.\nAdvise on Egyptian regulatory requirements, including petroleum sector, investment and licensing, customs and import, foreign exchange, employment and data protection.\nManage relationships with regulators and local outside counsel.\nHandle compliance matters, including allegation intake, internal investigations, code of conduct training and third-party due diligence.\nEscalate risk early and clearly to the General Counsel, MENA.\nRequirements:\nEgyptian law degree and admission to the Egyptian Bar.\n8-10 years PQE at a leading law firm and/or in-house at a multinational.\nProven commercial contracts and general transactional experience (M&A not required).\nDirect involvement in corporate compliance matters, including allegations, investigations and code of conduct.\nExperience handling government, regulatory and state-owned enterprise engagements and negotiations.\nStrong commercial judgment with the ability to balance legal risk, operational requirements and business objectives.\nExperience with third-party risk management, distributor/agent onboarding, due diligence and compliance reviews. \nExperience advising on corporate governance, entity management and board/shareholder matters.\nFluent Arabic and English, with strong drafting in both.\nReferred:\nOilfield services or wider energy sector experience.\nExperience leading an internal investigation end to end.\nPrior sole-counsel or lead-lawyer responsibility for a business unit or country.\nExperience developing and implementing legal policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.\nTrack record in a large, matrixed organisation, including getting up to speed quickly in a new one. \n8 to 10 years of Experience\nSLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
