The role ensures compliance with company standards, Libyan regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while promoting a proactive and sustainable safety culture in a field-based environment.\nKey Responsibilities\n- Support implementation of the HSE Management System at Awjilah 103 Base\n- Ensure compliance with company standards and Libyan HSE regulations\n- Conduct HSE audits, inspections, and self-assessmentsIdentify risks and perform risk assessments (JSA, hazard analysis)\n- Develop and maintain HSE procedures, work instructions, and checklistsAdvise management on corrective and preventive actions\n- Coordinate and deliver HSE training for employees and contractors\n- Promote HSE awareness and safety culture across the site\n- Participate in incident investigations and ensure follow-up actions\n- Monitor HSE performance and track key indicators (KPIs)\n- Review and maintain HSE data in systems (e.g., QUEST)\n- Analyze HSE trends and recommend improvement actions\n- Liaise with contractors, authorities, and regulatory agencies\n- Ensure contractor compliance with HSE requirements\n- Maintain up-to-date HSE documentation and records onsite\n- Participate in SET meetings and site safety reviews\n- Support continuous improvement of HSE programs and practices\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong leadership and influencing skills in field operations\nExcellent communication and training capabilities\nHigh level of risk awareness and problem-solving ability\nStrong auditing and compliance management expertise\nAbility to work under pressure in remote locations\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nHSE compliance and audit performance\nIncident Frequency Rate (IFR) / Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR)\nClosure rate of corrective actions\nHSE training completion rates\nImprovement in HSE trends and reporting accuracy\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.\n5-8+ years of HSE experience, preferably in oil & gas or field operations.\nStrong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and industry HSE standards.\nExperience working in remote or desert operational environments is highly desirable.\nSLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
