We work on applied research projects in the physical sciences to meet the current and future challenges of the industry.\nDescription & Scope:\n We have an internship vacancy within the ‘Enabling Materials’ programm, in the area of membrane materials development. The project will involve preparation of membrane materials and permeation testing, along with associated chemical and mechanical characterization. Techniques may include differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, gas chromatography, and mechanical testing.\nThe work will primarily be experimental and lab-based, involving carrying out experiments as well as performing the analysis and interpretation of the experimental data. You will work within a team of scientists as an integrated part of the team working on an ongoing research project.\nResponsibilities:\nPlanning and carrying out experimental work, ensuring that laboratories activities are kept within Health & Safety standards and guidelines.\n\nAnalysing and interpreting experimental datasets.\n\nParticipating in regular meetings to discuss project progress.\n\nWriting technical reports and presenting to peers.\n\nAssisting with the laboratory housekeeping.\n\nRequirements :\nStudying a Bachelors in Chemistry, Materials science, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline\n\nOral and written communication skills in English\n\nGood motivation, autonomy, teamwork, and ingenuity\n\nGood fundamental laboratory skills\n\nBasic Data Analysis skills (e.g. Excel)\n\nSLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
