It supports SLB through innovative engineering and quality-driven manufacturing, with portfolio emphasis on rotary steerable systems, Measurement While Drilling tools, Specialised Measurement tools and Rechargeable Batteries for Downhole use, and power source products.\nOver 400 employees work in SHTC's modern, fit-for-purpose building in scenic Gloucestershire. The facility was constructed to handle future demand for PowerDrive tools with an efficient workflow that ensures assembled tools are extensively and rigorously tested before delivery. On site, tools can be monitored using state of-the-art hardware and connectivity that link SHTC to all field locations.\nSHTC continues Research & Development investment for new technologies, extending operational limits so that clients can reach hotter, deeper reserves.\nDescription & Scope:\nJoin our dynamic Mechanical Engineering team and gain exposure to cutting-edge projects that will challenge and inspire you!\nIn this role you will:\nCollaborate with passionate engineers and cross-functional teams as you work on real-world challenges that make a difference.\n\nSupport new product development by contributing to the definition, validation, and field trials of innovative solutions to product concepts, varying from early requirements through prototype or commercial readiness.\n\nAnalyze, design and develop solution concepts, evaluating the technical feasibility, risk, and cost.\n\nProve concepts via mathematical models, 3D modelling or physical testing. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing/operations, supply chain, and quality to align on project progression.\n\nAs part of our team, you’ll sharpen your skills using industry-leading software like ANSYS for modeling, simulation, and design, while also getting hands-on experiences such as physical testing and fitment checks.\nTogether, we’ll tackle challenges in reliability, cost efficiency, maintainability, and manufacturing support, giving you the opportunity to see the direct impact of your contributions.\nQualifications & Skills :\nBachelors or Masters Degree - (Penultimate or Final year) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Materials or a related discipline\n\nOral and written communication skills in English\n\nGood motivation, autonomy, teamwork, and ingenuity\n\nProject work experience (personal or academic)\n\nBasic proficiency in a major CAD tool (e.g., Creo/SolidWorks/CATIA) and ability to interpret 2D drawings/GD&T.\n\nAbility to produce clear technical notes, test reports, and structured slide updates.\n\nSLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
