We are Making Sustainability Happen.\nAs our new Acoustics Consultant/Engineer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.\nRole\nSLR’s Acoustics & Vibration team provides professional consulting services for a wide scope of projects ranging from city scale environments, building and interior space design, industrial facilities, and specialized underwater assessments.\nIf you have a passion for working on environmental related projects, and applied problem solving, this role will give you hands-on experience and direct mentorship from industry experts.\nYou will collaborate closely with team members on a wide array of private and public projects, ranging from new construction and retrofits to environmental noise studies and vibration assessments. This is a role where your curiosity, initiative, and technical rigor will make a visible impact.\nResponsibilities:\nTechnical + Project Work\nConduct environmental noise and vibration assessments including noise permitting for industrial/ manufacturing facilities, land use planning, transportation noise for road, rail and aircraft acoustic and vibration measurements, analyze data, and develop modelling predictions.\nConduct field measurements in challenging environments throughout the year;\nPrepare clear, high quality technical reports and supporting documentation.\nAssist with instrumentation setup, maintenance, calibration, and software applications used in acoustics, noise, and vibration studies.\nSupport the development of new models, tools, and analytical methods.\nCollaboration + Communication\nWork closely with consultants, engineers, project managers, and technical specialists across SLR’s “One Team” environment.\nMaintain positive, professional communication with clients, and regulators.\nContribute to SLR’s strong industry reputation through excellent delivery and relationship building.\nProject & Business Exposure\nMonitor your utilization goals and contribute to the financial success of project work.\nSupport business development efforts, including preparing proposals, gathering project information, and assisting senior staff in client engagements.\nThis is a unique opportunity to join to a growing and highly engaged team, where your efforts and impact will be recognized and valued immensely.\nWorking @ SLR\nWith us, there is no doubt you’ll grow your subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. Final agreed-upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.\nCompetitive total compensation package including Qualifications/Education/Memberships:\nDegree or technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, physics, or related studies.\nProfessional status or eligibility (e.g., P.Eng.) is an asset.\n3-8 years' experience in acoustics, noise, and vibration consulting is considered an asset.\nUnderstanding of noise and vibration measurement, prediction, or evaluation methodologies.\nExperience with acoustic modelling tools (e.g., Insul, CadnaA, CATT, Odeon, EASE, SAP2000, Visual Basic, MATLAB or Python for signal processing) is an asset.\nKnowledge of provincial, local, and industry specific regulations and guidelines.\nStrong communication, problem solving skills, and a collaborative mindset.\nAwareness of workplace Health & Safety requirements.\nValid
