We are Making Sustainability Happen.\nAs our newEnvironmental Execution Planner, you will be responsible for providing environmental project management and compliance oversight support during project planning and execution phases. You will act as the primary liaison between the project team, construction team, environmental inspection team, contractors, and subject matter experts to ensure environmental requirements are implemented, verified, tracked, and documented throughout project execution.\nYour specific responsibilities will include:\nProviding oversight and technical direction to the Environmental Inspection Team and ensuring inspection activities align with project risks, environmental sensitivities, permits/approvals, and project-specific contractual requirements.\nDevelopment and implementation of environmental compliance execution strategies, inspection programs, and project-specific management tools.\nCreation, maintenance, and management of project tracking systems, templates, reporting tools, compliance logs, deficiency trackers and document control processes.\nReviewing, tracking, and providing technical comments on contractor environmental management plans, environmental work plans, permit applications, environmental studies and supporting documentation.\nCoordination of environmental permitting activities, including permit tracking, application review, regulator commitments management and communication of permit requirements to project teams and contractors.\nSupport of procurement activities through preparation of scopes of work and requests for proposals, as required.\nProviding technical environmental support to project teams, contractors and subject matter experts including support for change management, environmental mitigations, and resolution of environmental issues during pre-construction and execution phases.\nParticipation in project meetings and provide environmental status updates relative to construction schedule and environmental risks and provide compliance recommendations.\nMaintaining environmental records and document control systems.\nMonitoring environmental performance trends and support continuous improvement initiative through lessons learned, compliance audits and program enhancements.\nEscalation of significant environmental risks, incidents, non-conformances, and regulatory issues to project leadership, as required.\nProviding ad-hoc support based on project requirements.\nThis is a unique opportunity to work with a highly engaged team with a dedicated growth-mindset.\nWorking @ SLR\nWith us, there is no doubt you’ll grow your subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.\nCompetitive total compensation package including comprehensive benefits, vacation, and a suite of wellness initiatives.\nFull-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement\nQualifications\nMinimum 10 years of experience supporting environmental planning, compliance, and execution for linear infrastructure projects, including both pre-construction and execution phases. Experience with hydroelectric, transmission or utility infrastructure projects is considered an asset.\nDiploma or degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Technology, or a related discipline.
