We are Making Sustainability Happen.\nAs our newEnvironmental Scientist / Engineer, you will play an important role on our Land Quality and Remediation team in Regina.\nRole\nIn this role, you will be responsible for executing and leading a variety of field programs related to the assessment, monitoring, management, and remediation of contaminated sites. No two days will be the same as you lead and support different aspects of varied projects at a range of urban and remote sites including upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas facilities, commercial and industrial properties, and federal and municipal sites.\nYour knowledge and experience will be invaluable to our team and will see you involved in the full life cycle of projects as you assist the project manager with budgeting, planning, coordinating, and executing projects, as well as data analysis and reviews, and reporting. At SLR, your demonstrated initiative and can-do attitude will be rewarded with responsibilities and opportunities that will challenge you and provide significant opportunities for personal and professional growth.\nResponsibilities:\nContributing to a positive team environment and safety by communicating clearly and proactively.\n\nParticipate in all facets of environmental or contaminated site projects including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation and reclamation programs, and long-term environmental monitoring of sites.\n\nProvide project management duties including client communications; proposal development; cost estimating; project planning, coordination, and execution; managing budgets and completing and overseeing technical reporting among SLR’s team members.\n\nLead complex fieldwork programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, soil vapour, and surface water, as well as environmental drilling, monitoring well installations, and remediation programs.\n\nAssist with project coordination, logistics, and health & safety initiatives.\n\nSupport project scope development, cost estimating, scheduling, and execution.\n\nAssist liaison with clients and regulatory representatives.\n\nEffectively mentor junior staff while at the same time being mentored by more senior professionals.\n\nMaintaining effective, open, and honest communications with co-workers, supervisors, and work-related contacts.\n\nWorking @ SLR\nWith us, there is no doubt you’ll grow your subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. A commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork is essential.\n\nProject management experience would be considered an asset.\n\nExperience with ex situ remediation would be considered a significant asset.\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to analyze and solve complex problems.\n\nAble to work independently, in small teams, and within larger multidisciplinary teams, including ability to work in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources.\n\nPassion for fieldwork and available to work away from home occasionally.
