The combined organization will span more than 55 clinics across major Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest markets, serving over half a million pets.\nThis role will play an important part in shaping the next chapter of our combined organization and advancing our shared mission to transform veterinary care.\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking a Facilities Manager to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our growing network of veterinary practices. This role will manage facilities needs across a multi-market portfolio, partnering with practice teams, regional operations, vendors, landlords, and our third-party facilities management partner.\nThe ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple locations, vendors, and priorities simultaneously.\nResponsibilities\nManage day-to-day facilities operations across an assigned portfolio of veterinary practices.\n\nTriage and manage facilities requests, escalations, and emergency repairs through resolution.\n\nManage work orders, preventative maintenance, and facility information through our CMMS platform.\n\nCoordinate and manage third-party facilities partners, contractors, and local vendors.\n\nReview proposals, scopes, pricing, and invoices and track facilities spending against budget.\n\nCoordinate with landlords and property managers on building repairs and landlord responsibilities.\n\nConduct site visits and facility assessments to identify maintenance, repair, and capital needs.\n\nManage preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life-safety, and other building systems.\n\nIdentify recurring issues and recommend repair, replacement, or capital solutions.\n\nCoordinate smaller capital projects, equipment replacements, and practice refreshes.\n\nPartner with Development and Operations on capital planning, larger projects, and facilities priorities.\n\nMaintain clear communication with practice teams regarding issue status, timing, and resolution.\n\nQualifications\n3-5+ years of facilities management or related experience, preferably supporting a multi-site portfolio.\n\nExperience in veterinary, healthcare, retail, hospitality, or another multi-location environment preferred.\n\nExperience with CMMS/work-order systems, vendor management, and preventative maintenance.\n\nWorking knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire/life-safety systems.\n\nExperience managing facilities budgets, proposals, and small capital projects.\n\nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to independently prioritize a high volume of facilities needs across multiple locations.\n\nAbility to travel regularly between practice locations.\nSmall Door is proudly committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace.
