Through our membership model, we deliver exceptional care, 24/7 telemedicine, transparent pricing, and modern hospitality in thoughtfully designed, stress-free spaces.\nFounded in 2019 with our flagship location in Manhattan’s West Village, Small Door has quickly expanded across the East Coast. In July 2026, Small Door and Bond Vet merged to build a more connected, accessible, and compassionate veterinary care experience across routine, primary, and urgent care. The combined organization will span more than 55 clinics across major Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest markets, serving over half a million pets.\nThis role will play an important part in shaping the next chapter of our combined organization and advancing our shared mission to transform veterinary care.\nAbout the Role\nBond Vet and Small Door Veterinary have come together to build the next generation of veterinary care, and we're looking for a Veterinarian Recruiter to help us grow it the right way.\nIn this role, you'll be the recruiting partner for veterinarians and other veterinary roles in your markets. That means building lasting relationships with veterinarians and the broader vet community, not just filling open roles. You'll get to know what motivates each candidate, connect that to our mission and culture, and guide them through a thoughtful, high-touch experience from the first conversation to their first day and beyond.\nYou'll also help plan for new practice openings. That includes setting talent benchmarks, building targeted outreach plans, and tracking how candidates move through each stage. Your work will directly shape how we grow: thoughtfully, without losing quality, culture, or candidate enthusiasm.\nCandidates in the Northeast (NYC, Boston, or D.C. metro) are preferred.\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild relationships that last. Be the main recruiting partner for veterinarians in your assigned markets. Engage both active and passive candidates, and keep in touch with them even before a role is open.\n\nShow up in person. Travel to clinics and priority markets to meet candidates, learn about local talent, and grow referral networks. Spend time in clinics to understand team culture and staffing needs, and to find referral opportunities from doctors and nurses.\n\nOwn the full hiring process for veterinarians. This includes sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer strategy, and closing. Manage all candidate communication from first outreach to offer letter.\n\nSource creatively. Reach passive veterinarians through direct outreach, industry networking, job boards, and social media. Find a way to yes: think outside the box on outreach and offers so we can meet both business needs and what candidates are asking for.\n\nDeliver a white-glove candidate experience. Coordinate on-site interviews and make sure clinic leaders are prepared ahead of time, so every candidate feels expected and welcomed.\n\nKeep a pipeline that's always on. Maintain a steady bench of veterinarians at every experience level, built months before roles open.\n\nEngage the veterinary community. Build relationships with veterinary schools, alumni networks, industry associations, and local veterinary communities. Plan and host networking events and candidate dinners, and attend CE and conference events, owning both the preparation and the follow-up.\n\nPartner closely with field leaders. Work with Regional Directors of Operations, Medical Directors, Practice Managers, and medical leadership to forecast needs, spot coverage gaps early, and understand the skills each role requires.\n\nBring clarity with data. Keep accurate, up-to-date candidate records and capture conversations and feedback, so leaders can see pipeline health, candidate engagement, and market insights in real time. Use recruiting data and market intelligence to sharpen sourcing and improve conversion.\n\nBuild repeatable playbooks. Help create and refine consistent veterinarian hiring practices that work across markets.\n\nWork as a team. Collaborate with the other recruiters so every hiring need gets met.\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\nEvery market you support has a strong, engaged bench of veterinarian candidates.\n3-5 engaged, qualified candidates for every open or forecasted veterinarian role\n\nPipelines are built well before openings, so there's less vacancy risk and less last-minute pressure.\nPipelines built 3-6 months before new practice openings and expected vacancies\n\nYou keep a steady rhythm of in-person candidate meetings, market visits, and networking.\n\nA meaningful share of hires come from proactive outreach and long-term relationships.\n\nTime-to-fill becomes more predictable. (Average of 60-90 days from approval to accepted offer)\n\nStakeholders have clear, ongoing visibility into candidate status and pipeline health without needing to ask for ad-hoc updates.\nCandidate records, notes, and stages kept fully up to date in the ATS\n\nClinic leaders feel supported, informed, and involved in building their local teams.\n\nCandidates have a warm, personal experience that reflects our brand.\nPositive candidate survey scores, and every candidate hears from us within 24 hours of each interview stage\n\nWho You Are\n3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a track record recruiting veterinary roles (5+ years preferred)\n\nProven success recruiting scarce, passive clinical talent and keeping candidates engaged over long timelines\n\nStrong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, etc.)\n\nSolid understanding of medical terminology (animal or human)\n\nExecutive presence, sound judgment, and excellent written and verbal communication, with comfort influencing senior clinicians and leadership\n\nComfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment; you take initiative and make thoughtful decisions quickly\n\nRelationship-driven, resourceful, self-directed, and excited to travel and build trust in person\n\nBachelor's degree required\n\nWhat You'll Get\nCompetitive salary: $80,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience\n\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance\n\n401(k) benefits\n\nGenerous paid time off, parental leave, and company-wide holidays\n\nCommuter benefits, subsidized health and wellness benefits, and more\n\nDiscounted veterinary care for your pets\n\nRoom to grow, and a real chance to make an impact\n\nA collaborative team that lives our values and has your back\n\nLocation Details\nWe're considering candidates with permanent residency in and can perform work from CT, FL, GA, IL, OH, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, PA, TX, VA, or Washington, D.C. Candidates in the Northeast (NYC, Boston, or D.C. metro) are preferred. Employees need to be available during Eastern hours unless otherwise agreed. We'll provide a laptop, and if you live within commuting distance, you're welcome to work from our corporate office in Chelsea, NYC.\nSmall Door is proudly committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable workplace. We encourage qualified applicants of every background, ability, and life experience to apply to appropriate employment opportunities.","description_format":"text","description_chars":7163,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Parental leave","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"},{"name":"New York","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Washington","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Boston","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Florida","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Texas","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Virginia","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"New Jersey","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Illinois","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Pennsylvania","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Maryland","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Massachusetts","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Connecticut","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"New York","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"North Carolina","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Ohio","iso":null,"kind":"city"},{"name":"Georgia","iso":null,"kind":"city"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Veterinary Medicine"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-06T18:59:57Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 2 · green card filings: 1","filings_12m":2,"filings_prev_12m":0,"green_card_filings_12m":1,"median_offered_wage_usd":167500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-03T21:08:04+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)","US Department of Labor: PERM disclosure data (green cards)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":5,"expected_fill_days":58,"reasons":["conf:3","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-12T06:55:09Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":120000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/small-door-veterinary-recruiter","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/small-door-veterinary-recruiter.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-12T16:24:52Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":26201,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-13T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":174596},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=174596"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fsmall-door-veterinary-recruiter"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fsmall-door-veterinary-recruiter"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fsmall-door-veterinary-recruiter"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/small-door-veterinary-recruiter\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fsmall-door-veterinary-recruiter"}]}
