When commercial kitchen equipment goes down, restaurants need someone who can figure out what's wrong and get things running again.\nThat's where you come in.\nSmart Care is looking for an experienced Master Service Technician who knows how to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment - and doesn't need someone looking over their shoulder to get the job done.\nWe're looking for someone who's been around the block, knows the equipment, and can tackle the complicated service calls that leave other technicians scratching their heads.\nThis isn't just about fixing equipment. It's about being the technician customers trust and the person other technicians call when they need a second opinion.\nWhat You'll Actually Be Doing\nDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking, refrigeration, warewashing, and other foodservice equipment.\nWork on equipment such as ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, dishwashers, ice machines, walk-in coolers, reach-ins, and other commercial kitchen systems.\nTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, gas, and refrigeration issues to identify the actual problem - not just throw parts at it and hope for the best.\nRead wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose complex equipment failures.\nWork directly with restaurant managers, hospitality customers, and other commercial clients to keep their equipment operating.\nCommunicate with manufacturers and technical support teams when additional resources are needed.\nComplete repairs accurately, efficiently, and professionally.\nPerform preventative maintenance and identify potential issues before they turn into expensive emergency calls.\nKeep accurate service records, work orders, time reporting, and parts documentation.\nMaintain your company vehicle, tools, and truck inventory.\nRecommend additional services or repairs when appropriate.\nFollow established safety procedures and company standards.\nShare your knowledge with other technicians, providing troubleshooting assistance, technical guidance, and support when needed.\nManage your service calls independently while maintaining strong productivity and customer satisfaction.\nWhat We're Looking For\nFirst and foremost, we're looking for someone who can troubleshoot.\nNot just replace a part because a fault code told you to.\nWe want someone who understands how commercial equipment works, can identify the root cause of a problem, and knows how to make the right repair.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nAt least 2 years of technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, or a related technical field.\nStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.\nValid driver's license and acceptable driving record.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple service calls.\nWillingness to participate in an emergency on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.\nAvailability for occasional overnight travel.\nAuthorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.\nEven Better If You Have:\nExtensive commercial kitchen equipment repair experience.\nExperience servicing both hot-side and cold-side equipment.\nEPA, CFESA, or other relevant technical certifications.\nExperience diagnosing complex electrical, mechanical, gas, or refrigeration issues.\nPrevious experience mentoring, training, or assisting other service technicians.\nRelevant military technical experience.\nWhat You'll Get\nA Company Service Vehicle: Along with a fuel card, tablet, and cell phone for business use.\nCompetitive Benefits: A comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) and paid time off.\nTraining & Certifications: Ongoing technical training, access to Smart Care's National Training Kitchen, and opportunities to pursue professional CFESA certifications.\nTechnical Support: Access to experienced technical support teams and manufacturer resources when you need them. You'll be working in commercial kitchens and other customer environments, which means:\nFrequent bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.\nOccasionally lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds.\nWorking around hot surfaces, open flames, pressurized steam, electrical components, and moving mechanical equipment.\nOccasionally working in damp, humid, freezing, or otherwise uncomfortable conditions.\nWorking on ladders, rooftops, and occasionally elevated work areas.\nSome days you'll have straightforward repairs.
