This position works closely with suppliers, internal departments, and management to ensure purchases are made at the right quality, cost, and time while maintaining accurate purchasing records.\nKey Responsibilities\nReview purchase requests and determine purchasing requirements.\nSource and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and service.\nRequest and compare supplier quotations.\nNegotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other purchasing conditions.\nPrepare and issue purchase orders.\nMonitor orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.\nMaintain accurate purchasing, pricing, supplier, and inventory records.\nResolve discrepancies involving invoices, purchase orders, shipments, pricing, and product quality.\nDevelop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.\nIdentify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.\nCoordinate with receiving, inventory, accounting, production, and other departments.\nMonitor inventory levels and assist with purchasing forecasts and planning.\nEnsure purchases comply with company policies and approved supplier requirements.\nResearch new suppliers and alternative products when appropriate.\nPrepare purchasing reports and provide information regarding costs, orders, and supplier performance.\nAssist with contract, bid, and vendor-management activities as needed.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, purchasing, or a related field preferred.\n2+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience preferred.\nStrong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.\nExcellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.\nExperience with ERP, purchasing, or inventory-management systems preferred.\nAbility to analyze pricing, quotes, and purchasing data.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nPreferred Skills\nVendor and supplier management\nPurchase order management\nCost analysis and negotiation\nInventory management\nContract and quote review\nData entry and recordkeeping\nMicrosoft Excel\nERP/procurement software\nExcellent written and verbal communication\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively\nPhysical/Work Requirements\nPrimarily office-based, with occasional interaction with warehouse, receiving, production, or supplier locations as applicable.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.\nMay occasionally require extended hours to address urgent purchasing or supply issues.\n About Smart Care\nSmart Care is a national repair and service provider for commercial foodservice, refrigeration, and cold storage equipment.
