And we're looking for people who want to work in a collaborative and fun environment to fuel our next wave of innovation.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nCoordinate daily inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring the accurate and timely movement of materials and finished products.\nPrepare, verify, and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, customs paperwork, and delivery records.\nIndependently investigate logistics challenges, apply critical thinking to evaluate options, and implement practical solutions to minimize operational disruptions.\nProactively identify potential shipping delays, discrepancies, or service issues, taking ownership of corrective actions through to resolution.\nMaintain accurate shipping, receiving, and transportation records within the company's ERP system, ensuring documentation is complete and up to date.\nCoordinate with Warehouse, Purchasing, Production, and Customer Service teams to support daily operational priorities and timely deliveries.\nEnsure logistics activities comply with established company procedures, shipping requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.\nWHAT YOU BRING\n3-5 years of hands-on experience in logistics coordination, shipping administration, freight coordination, or a related role, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment.\nDemonstrated ability to independently investigate and resolve logistics challenges, applying critical thinking, sound judgment, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach.\nWorking knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes, freight coordination, and transportation requirements.\nGeneral understanding of customs procedures and cross-border shipping documentation.\nExperience using ERP systems to manage shipping information, maintain accurate records, and support daily logistics activities.\nA proactive, accountable approach to work, with the confidence to make informed decisions, take initiative, and follow issues through to resolution.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.\nPost-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is considered an asset; equivalent practical experience will also be considered. \nIndustry certifications such as Certified Canadian Logistics Professional (CCLP) or a CIFFA Certificate are considered assets. \nWORKING AT SMG\nGrowth creates opportunity, and we’re investing in the workplace, technology, and talent that will shape our future.
