As we continue building this operation, we’re looking for a talented and motivated Senior Software Engineer who are passionate about continuous learning and excited to grow in a fast-paced, innovative environment.\nSmartsheet runs on a modern SaaS stack hosted on AWS, with infrastructure defined and managed as code using Terraform and strong engineering best practices. Our core platform includes a legacy Java monolith alongside a growing ecosystem of microservices, primarily built in Java and Go (with a small number of Kotlin services). On the front end, product teams that deliver UI experiences use React.\nYou will work remotely from Bulgaria and will be reporting to an engineering leader.\nYou Will:\nWork on all aspects of software development, including back-end, front-end, cloud infrastructure, and test automation.\nDrive high standards for internal services and open-source tools, ensuring reliability and scalability.\nDeploy services and infrastructure changes frequently in an agile environment using full CI/CD pipelines.\nContribute to product development across ideation, customer engagement, planning, design, execution, and operational excellence.\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and UX researchers.\nMentor junior engineers, balancing customer delivery with high coding and infrastructure standards.\nApply innovative problem-solving approaches and validate both your ideas and those of your teammates.\nDefine success for your team and the features you help build and ship.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nYou Have:\nProficiency in Java or Golang\nExperience designing, building and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, low-latency distributed systems serving millions of users \nFamiliarity with algorithms, data structures, and coding best practices.\nCuriosity and a desire to understand how things work, with the ability to get to the root of complex problems.\nStrong communication skills, able to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nA supportive mindset, willing to mentor and help colleagues get unstuck.\nPassion for quality, taking pride in building reliable, high-performance software.\nEmpathy for users, able to translate customer feedback into effective solutions.\nA growth mindset, viewing bugs, mistakes, and challenges as learning opportunities.\nLegally eligible to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis.\nFluency in English is required.\nSmartsheet is an equal opportunity employer.
